I use Ikky as the base as it tends to be a common pet for people to have (as it's easily available and powerful), but almost any fast 'Flock' pet (I.E. most fliers) will do in a pinch.
By using the 'sacrificial play' in this way, your 'Flock' has the benefit of the armor break and Black Claw both, wiping the floor with him. Swapping to Ikky would require an extra turn, thus losing on the benefits of broken armor. |

SHADOWLANDS ONLY. This strategy relies on the changes to flat damage abilities such as black claw that will be going live with 9.0. If you wish to use this strat before 9.0, don't try a leveling pet; you can substitute a pet with another flat damage ability (Toxic Bite, Wild Magic, Exposed Wounds, etc) to bolster Blistering Cold.
Fairly resilient strategy. Exceptionally poor RNG may pose an issue (3+ Flurry strikes with crits), but barring such instances your Baby Zandalari Raptor will die in round 4 or 5. The only difference this makes is how many times you use Chop with Boneshard when you bring him back. Health requirement on the Black Claw pet is sufficient to survive 2 3xFlurry strikes with no crits. Lower health can work, but is subject to greater RNG. Toxic Bite pets (Scaley, etc) with that much hp can substitute if needed. The fight isn't worth much XP, so if you don't want to worry about a leveling pet you can replace it with any level 25+ pet to ensure victory. Script thanks to Qrmu |

A random flying pet has been added to slot #3, in case RNG is not in your favor. Make sure your flying pet in slot #3 has flying abilities selected. Happy battling! ^^

If RNG is on your side and Moth Dust crits and/or you put hit to sleep multiple times it can be done with 1 Moth, so watch out you don't kill him if you want to level a pet.

This team and strategy works for nearly all of the Beasts of Fable bosses. If you get horrible RNG, bring out your Idol then Sandstorm on CD and Crush as filler.

1) MPD will die on the 3rd turn if Skitterer uses, for example, Flurry(x3) + Any ability + Flurry(x3). Or Skitter/WaterJet (crit) + Any ability + Flurry(x3).
2) Flyby + Thunderbolt + 2xExplode = only 1760 dmg. (edited)

Yeah I do agree that if MPD were to die that it would fail. Looking at the numbers you are correct though I have run it 30+ times without a failure.
It's been a while since I created this and have to presume I never saw a double triple event (Can't remember if moves were static or random) but presuming its random and in your scenarios below:
* (235 I 235 I 235) = 705 + 470 + (235 [MPD mech trait activates] I 235 [lives] I 235 [dies])
* 705 (Crit) + 470 + (235 [MPD mech trait activates] I 235 [lives] I 235 [dies])
To combat this you can use Darkmoon Zeppelin (above 1410HP)
* (235 I 235 I 235) = 705 + 470 + (235 I 235 [DMZ mech trait activates] I 235 [lives subject to a crit])
* 705 (Crit) + 470 + (235 I 235 [DMZ mech trait activates] I 235 [lives subject to a crit])
OR just restart and likely get the W :p
In light of this feedback, I have changed it from MPD to DMZ and
have added a note about the RNG element for alternative petremoved MPD as an alternative, thank you :)2)

532 base dmg * (100% - 50% elite buff + 25% weakened defenses by Flyby).
