I keep forgetting to level my Chrominius because I'm an idiot. The strat that worked for me utilized:

Dream Whelpling (1,2,2)
Emerald Presence > Emerald Bite > Emerald Dream, on repeat until Spirit Dies. If you're lucky you get to hit Quill with another Emerald Presence.

Nexus Whelpling (1,2,2)
Arcane Storm > Mana Surge > Tail Sweep (Mana Surge didn't kill off Quill for me)

Nether Faerie Dragon (2,2,1)
Moon Fire > Arcane Blast until dead.

I tried 1. Chrominius = Arcane Explosion-> Howl-> Surge of Power. then
2. Nether fairy=Evanescence-> Moonfire-> Arcane Blast-> until he dies,
3. Nexus = Arcane Storm-> Mana Surge..
I think it is more reliable.. :)

Used Chrominus (1,1,2) Bite, howl, surge. Both pets die after Quillino comes in.
Then with Emerald Photo Whelp (1,1,1) use Breath/Photo Strike how you like. Chuck in an Ancient Blessing to heal where needed. Quillino dead.
I managed to kill 3rd pet using Whelp one time thanks to RNG. But normally gets it down to around 50%.
Finish off with any pet with surge of Power (another chrominus or Azure whelping).

Worth noting if you do not have these pets the following substitutions can be made:
nexus whelpling = stormborne whelpling P/S rare (100% drop from stormheim - stormwing matriarch)
Netherfarie dragon = Sprite darter hatchling. (rare s/s breed) feralas world drop.
(and of course both can be found on the AH!)

I moved my Faerie to first slot and started with Life Exchange to even us out going into 2nd round. Then Moonfire followed by Explosion till we were both dead.
I put Yu'la in 2nd position with her Breath; good against Magic pets. Had intended to use Life Exchange but RNG kept us pretty even with me staying just a few points above him. Laid down Celestial Blessing for when Chrominius came in and used Breath until Quillino's Spectral Strike killed Yu'la,
Chrominius came in with the Sanctified buff and killed Quillion with one Arcane Blast.
Fethyr's lift off only did 151 damage to Chrominius thanks to the Blessing, Arcane Explosion, Howl, Arcane Explosion, and Surge of Power killed Fethyr.

Mana Surge may be the Nexus Whelpling's strongest ability in general, but in this case, asn Anon pointed out just below, Tail Sweep ges the benefit of the Dragonkin strong against Magic and its bonus for striking last. This means that Tail Sweep does 676 damage per round against Quillino instead of Mana Surge's 361+180 to 541+180, which is an average of 630. Now, since Quillino's Magic racial limits the damage per round, you're capped at 580, but with Tail Sweep, you always reach that 580, whereas Mana Surge can hit for as little as 541.

Chrominius Arcane Explosion > howl > Surge (still enough to kill first pet but you get some extra dmg on his backrow pets)
Chrominius dies switch to Nexus Whelp Arcane storm > Tail sweep till Quilino dies, depending if quilino missed his spectral strike mana surge will kill Fethyr if not clean up with your nether faerie dragon after your nexus whelp dies. or jsut use a second nexus whelp if you got one

My Nexus always got killed on the Sear Magic round. I managed to get through with the NFD finishing off Quillino via Arcane Blast, pass on Fethyr's first turn, Life Exchange, then Moonfire and Arcane Blast spam. Finished with 9 health... scary.

I would say that while this does work, the Onyxian Whelp is a better choice. You can start off with her heal to counter the potential first turn Spectral Strike, and then Lift-Off when Quillino does his 2nd Powerball (thus avoiding Spectral Spine).

This means you could use the Wild Crimson Hatchling, Spawn of Onyxia, or the Onyxian Whelpling as they can all have Tail Sweep, Lift-Off and Healing Flame. Possibly the Crimson Whelp as well, though it does have fairly low health. Perhaps too low.

Not many people have the WoW 5th Year Anniversary pet Onyxia, but Onyxian Whelpling is an easy capture. I did use your strat with her and died a few times. I figured out that I had to throw a Life Exchange into the last fight in order to keep enough health to survive. I did, with only 12 health remaining. This is a tough one!

Substituting an Onyxian Whelpling (2 1 1) for the Nexus Whelpling and timing Healing Flame to hit the round of Qillino's Spectral Strike made a winner for me. Other than the Healing Flame he should just Tail Sweep.
