If you don't own an S/S Rose Taipan or an S/S Death Adder Hatchling, the Rose Taipan is a wild pet captured in Stormheim.
Shadowlands Update: Due to the changes made to Stampede, Stoneskin and other similar abilities no longer block all three rounds of Stampede. This means the Feline Familiar will be affected by Shattered Defenses when Wumpas comes in. The fight still works even though the Feline Familiar doesn't live as long, I just had to change the rules around when Blinding Poison is used. The first pet doesn't matter as much anymore, as Stoneskin is no longer a criteria. I'm adding some other strategies using the Rose Taipan and a collection of alternatives for the first pet, so hopefully there's one that suits your collection. |

Any Direhorn with more than 245 speed will work in the first slot. That includes the Direhorn Hatchling with Horn Gore, Trample, and Ironskin. If using this pet, simply use Ironskin on turn three instead of Trihorn Shield, and when attacking, use Trample until you drop below 50% HP, then use Horn Gore instead. (The Beast Racial only boosts one part of Trample's damage. The other part always deals 10% of the enemy's maximum health.) No changes to the TD script will be needed.
Another alternative pet in slot one is an Infernal Pyreclaw. Use Shell Armor on turn 3, and otherwise use Flame Breath until it dies. (Don't use Scorched Earth to try and speed it up, it does too much damage to you Rose Taipan.) Once again, no changes to the TD script are necessary if using an Infernal Pyreclaw. |
