Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

just beat first try, Broot (2,2,2) Pandaren earth spirit ( 1,2,2 ) laughing stoneskin (1,2,2) i followed the strat above broot died halfway through the 2nd pet. I called out the earth spirit used mudlisde, rupture and then used stoneshot. never used my last pet.

It seems there's a massive amount of RNG with this battle. In three battles, Broot has died before the second pet has died every single time, and the two remaining have killed my pets each time as well. (edited)

Broot (B/B) Zephyrian Prince (P/S), Dark Phoenix Hatchling (H/S)

Broot wasn't able to solo the first two, but got the second pet down petty nice. Zephyrian Prince died, but I was able to finish up with Dark Phoenix Hatchling with about 200 HP to spare. Nice strat. Worked first try. Thank you.

Evellilei wrote on 2021-06-05 14:43:22

Now I know this may sound strange, but this is a sure strat:

Singing Sunflower (1, 1, 2)
Fozling (1, 2, 2)
Any elemental pet

Just alternate between the first two pets while using Photosynthesis and Sunlight and fill in with Lash or Crush until the Root debuff wears off.

This is a strat I got from Caregiver Maximillian, but I got tipsy one night, I accidentally used it on Rotgut...and it worked!!!

Like the original strat below, this is a long fight.

Yeah I had to go ahead and bite the bullet to buy the store pet. I ran Sunflower after the Wandering Ancient and didn't even need to pull out Zeph Prince.

Asarkhadon wrote on 2020-12-27 22:13:38

Perfect usage of Broot! To me it was accompanied by Ominous Flame and Molten Corgi.

When the exploding pet kills Broot, the eye is left with ~1000 hp. Bring Ominous Flame:

1) Forboding Curse;
2) Spiritfire beam;
3) Sometimes the pet survives first hit, Spiritfire beam again.

Molten Corgi comes in.

1) If Ominous Flame managed to shoot once, Superbark. If twice, GOTO 2;
2) Puppies of the flame. This helps to kill the pet, survive arcane surge and undead round.

This strat worked perfectly (53hpts left)! thank you

Kimberly wrote on 2021-05-18 01:03:32

Unfortunately Broot was unable to kill both pets, not a successful strat for me

kess wrote on 2021-05-07 11:45:03

I have tried this strat 10+ times, with different pets in 2 & 3. Even when Broot kills the first two, the third one finishes of my last two pets...

Xade-Kazzak wrote on 2021-04-23 20:08:12

Doesn't even remotely work, can't even get the second enemy pet to 50%. Terrible strategy.

Kateuk

wrote on 2021-02-07 10:22:36

I can't get Blossoming ancient to kill both of the first two pets, is it breed dependent or is there a specific order for the abilities used?

Morgiana#1744

It worked on the first try for me, but I changed only one thing... I didn't let the Photosynthesis drop at all, I refreshed it when it was at one turn left.

Verges wrote on 2021-01-05 11:40:47

Tried 4 times with no success, put Broot and a Blossoming Ancient + High HP Ele in 3rd slot with a hard-hitting effect (Azerati) did the trick. The first pet would die often before the first pet let alone trying to get even the 2nd to survive the Corpse Explosion from the 2nd Leftovers leaving the Mana Surge on the last one to rip apart the team.

Leutz

wrote on 2020-12-19 09:55:05

Tried this exact strat 35 times, 0 success - followed the strat to the exact same order, even tried changing some things around - this is definitely HEAVY RNG, it relies very heavily on the fact that lava crab stays above 553 HP, any crit as well as NO misses of their bone barrage will mean that you cannot win, you also need RNG with your wind slices - win ratio is about 1 in 100 with this current strat. NOT recommended. (The Author should've put breeds out as well, I even tested different breeds to no avail).

(OP) Fexmiqq

wrote on 2020-12-27 06:00:23

Lava crab? Wind slices? Other breeds?
Sir I think you commented on the wrong place. (edited)

(OP) Fexmiqq

wrote on 2020-12-27 05:53:05

Reworked the whole strategy, needlessly complicated. Seems that the 2nd enemy pet explodes when the curse of doom is about to expire. Got hit by all 3 bone barrages and still won so 100% winrate (-the unlucky crits eh)

Credeo wrote on 2020-12-14 02:45:30

I just let Broot kill both of the first two pets. Leaves you with 2 pets to kill last one.

Zuksharn

wrote on 2020-12-20 04:01:28

I agree. I couldn't find a reason to *not* get rid of the corpse exploder. Once I did the fight was easily won.

FuxieDK

wrote on 2020-11-29 11:12:47

Kinda hard to prevent Corpse Explosion, when it happens on pretty random times..
And what backline damage are you refering to? Not a single ability does backline damage. (edited)

(OP) Fexmiqq

wrote on 2020-11-29 12:21:55

I'm unsure but I think the explosion always happens when he is at 25% or lower. The backline dmg I am referring to is: sunlight

FuxieDK

wrote on 2020-12-01 08:43:17

Nope.. I've had him NOT explode at 15% and DO explode at 49% (edited)

FuxieDK

wrote on 2020-12-01 08:45:57

Also, a single Sunlight is nothing, when you write that you need backline damage to do the job.

(OP) Fexmiqq

wrote on 2020-12-01 14:05:40

Are you saying that the dmg is not enough? Maybe you are using wrong breed/pet. Sunlights purpose is to soften the 3th enemy pet so we can kill him with Call Lightning+Wild Winds+Wind Buffet

If I would throw a guess I think the explosion is coded smth like this:
Always use curse of doom on cd.
If enemy pet (players pet) is higher than 410 and own health is lower than 50% use explosion
otherwise use first ability (edited)

Perry#1899

wrote on 2020-12-10 22:51:16

To be fair, you do have that any breed of that pet will work. Furthermore, Broot and the alternative, Blossoming Ancient can only be B/B. Stating that someone is using the wrong breed/pet is redundant.

Luminita

Licentious

wrote on 2020-11-29 22:27:28

I think you meant to include Wind Buffet as the last move (during undead phase) of the eyeball. It seems to be implied in the "Description", but is not listed as an explicit step. Adding that ability there prevents the eyeball from doing additional damage to your Drafty.
