I swapped Gizmo for Xu-Fu, Cub of Xuen. Used Prowl and then Feed into Spirit Claws but I'm sure you could use Prowl+Moonfire instead or even Prowl+Spirit Claws. I just wanted to be safe rather than sorry and have to attempt this fight again. Drakeula & Xu-Fu died together which had Microbot XD swap in on its own against Yu'shor

That sounds like you can't even use a Whirpool in Round 1, which is probably not the case... Can you be more specific when something and what looks different compared to the written steps? (edited)

I couldn't get Drakeula down, he was swapped out when stunned with Arcane Dash. When Yu'shor was finally down my pets couldn't survive long enough to finish Drakeula off.

Did you accidentally idle on your Chitterspine and watch the Whirlpool impact instead of swapping Gizmo in Round 3? I mentioned it in the creator info, Gizmo needs the Beast Passive for the one-shot and I guess yours didn't take any damage from the Arctichnid.

It worked once for me but today i tried it 5 times and the last pet does his decoy faster than my microbot XD can do his ion cannon :(

When the first Decoy is set up, Microbot is already the active pet and immediately removes it with Alert! Another Decoy X can only happen 4 rounds later while Supercharge + Ion Cannon will only take two rounds for the kill... Sorry, I have no clue what went wrong for you.

I've got a question, mostly a request : I've searched everywhere, I coudn't find any reliable strategy with a team of 2 Battle Pets and a Carry pet (even a lvl24 one)... Is it IMPOSSIBLE in this fight ? Have they found the magic combo ? Who'll win that challenge ?

If you do not have the Chitterspine, Use Chrominius 1,1,2 skills. Firsts howl, then surge of power. Follow the rest of the strategy and works fine

According to Xu-Fu, only 29% of its users have the Deepstalker, while 95% have Chrominius.

And one of the nice things about these one-for-one strats is that replacements are easy. Any pet that can do 1412 against an Elemental (so hard luck, Starlette and Microbot!) would suit.

Ikky will probably work, though odds are that Gizmo will have to finish off Arctichnid, which leaves some chance for bad RNG to derail things, so you might have to wing it.

My old friend H/P Blighted Squirrel does the job as well, with Woodchipper, Crouch, and Stampede.

I'm sure there are others.

Just, when substituting, watch out that Gizmo takes enough damage to proc his Beast Racial before Arcane Dash.

P.S. I now notice Patricia below also suggested Pandaren Water Spirit. I assume Whirlpool, Dive, Water Jet. I could see that working as well, though I didn't test it. (edited)

Thank you so much! For some reason the listed strat wasn't working for me either, then I tried yours and it worked perfectly. Maybe it's related to pet breeds, who knows.

Glad you made something work for you... somehow. I'd prefer to see detailed feedback related to the strategy you're commenting on, so we might figure out what exactly "didn't work for you".
So maybe consider creating a new strategy when something completely different works for you (and is not a duplicate of something existing), thank you!

I just did the arithmetic.

Almost the only way this strat can fail is if you hit the buttons in the wrong order.

Only the Deepstalker has more than one breed. Both available breeds have the same power, and can take only 268+48+192+48=556 damage without crits. So even with crits on everything, and the lower-health P/S breed, that doesn't reach the 1156 health of the Deepstalker.

The Prowl-buffed Whirlpool is going to deliver 1901 (Strong) damage, which more than wipes out Artichnid's 1412.

Drakeula IS faster than Gizmo, which means that it will get its 636 Flock damage in together with the 288 from Devour the Weak that Artichnid did, meaning that Gizmo will always get its racial.

There is one extremely unlikely condition that could cause a problem. IF all four hits that Gizmo takes - the Devour the Weak, and the three Flock hits - ALL crit, then Gizmo would take a total of 1386 damage, which is greater than its base HP of 1339. However, that would have a probability of 1/(20^4), or 1 in 160,000. I'll take those odds!

There is no room for failure in the last match-up.

Having read a lot of comments on this site, the chance of users, especially unregistered non-regulars, pressing the buttons in the wrong order is a lot more than 1/160000 :D

Well it failed for me the first time too. Gizmo died before he could get his dash off. I was so surprised that I can't tell you what happened wrong but I did not "hit the wrong buttons" Worked the 2nd and 3rd time though.

I already did the arithmetic on this battle in the comments below.

There are several people who investigate reports of problems with strategies on Xu-Fu's. There are designated Strategy Curators, and other regulars who read comments and are interested in the latest.

In my experience, when people leave a short "It didn't work" note, they usually made a mistake. Maybe they used a pet with the wrong Speed, maybe they didn't do a Pass where it was indicated, sometimes they were even using the team and strat from a completely different battle. :)

Sometimes there genuinely is a problem with the strat. This is where the Curators and others come in, checking the strat for weaknesses, and fixing it or removing it if it can't be fixed.

Since most failure reports with no details are wrong, it's not good to waste people's time investigating them. Instead, help them by providing the information they need.

If the strat failed for you, and you want your comment to be taken seriously:

1. Specify EXACTLY which species and breeds you used.

2. Specify whether you read the strategy from the site and executed it manually, or downloaded and used the tdScript.

3. Specify EXACTLY where the first unexpected thing happened, the first thing that deviated from what the strat predicts. What died too early? What didn't die when it was supposed to? What attack missed?

4. If possible, provide a log. You can see your log in the Pet Battle tab of your chat box. You can pull that out, make it bigger, screenshot it. Better still, you can use the addon Battle Pet Log Keeper from Curseforge, and do /pblk and Save Battle when the battle you want to log is complete.

Almost any strat can fail to a really unlucky string of crits, and some difficult challenge strats like the Family ones may fail more than anyone likes, but the people behind this site do their best to promote well-working strats. Do your part. Provide useful information.

That seems like a clever possible substitution, but I'm not exactly sure what you mean 0-1-2?

I kind-of got it to work with Legs Whirlpool->Surge of Power->Artichnid kills Legs->Gizmo enters and kills Artichnid with Scrabble, after taking his necessary damage.

Yeah, guess it's exactly this (1x Scrabble -> Prowl -> Arcane Dash), and obviously works... but it feels more vulnerable to crits because Gizmo gets poisoned for all its active rounds by Sputo di Veleno Nevoso and this DoT will be buffed by Black Claw and Shattered Defenses. Combined with Flock's multiple hits this leads to many chances to get killed before Arcane Dash will go off.

This strategy worked very well for me, However I didn't have my Gizmo leveled so I swapped in Brightpaw (1/2/1) with a few amendments.

*all pets are level 25 rare. I'm not sure if this strategy is only effective with specific breeds. On the off chance that it is I will list the ones I used. - Chitterspine Deepstalker P/S, Brightpaw S/B, Microbot XD H/P*

Turn 3: Swap to your Brightpaw (Arctichnid dies)

Brilliant and clever tactics - I have not seen Prowl used like this before (as in working from the backline on the Whirlpool) and using Alert to get rid of the Decoy - brilliant!
