Low XP
Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Copied from Wowhead: Suggestion by Regent2203 and what finally worked for me!

Alternative Magic Mayhem, with only one infernal (one explosion):

1. Minfernal x/x/2 (i had 1465/289/273)
2. Hungering Claw x/2/2
3. Saphire Cub 2/x/x

Fight:
1. Minfernal - Pass, switched to Claw
2. curse of doom
3. darkness
4. switched to Cub
5-7. pounce
switched to Minfernal
8. Explode
Pick Cub
9. Pounce
Victory!

Thank you! Worked on the first try.

anon wrote on 2017-11-21 20:11:07

didn't work for me at all. the switches didn't function this way. i assume it's breed dependent and i really wish you guys would start specifying this. seems to be true of many of the argus fights. strats are totally dependent on what breed of pets you are using.

rikapi wrote on 2017-12-25 16:50:43

I was scratching my head I realized turn 4 was "Pass - switch to cub" instead of actively switching. whoops.

As for breeds, this one requires the Minfernal to be anything OTHER than H/H as Minfernal's health needs to be lower than Cub's 1075 after that ~513hp first hit. (but then if you had a H/H Minfernal to begin with, perhaps it's better to go double infernals...?)

purzlschn

wrote on 2018-01-25 14:02:20

the problem here is, as with Darkness, hit chance is set to 90 % - I had it a few times that curse of doom did not hit and pounce before missed twice...

momto3plus1

This one finally worked for me after trying different strats for over 2 hours. Cubs pounce missed the first time so reset.

callena

wrote on 2020-11-15 08:34:52

Not sure if this still works post pre-patch or if i was just unlucky, I was 10 hp on snozz short of a win first try, tried again and 7 HP short of killing snozz. Couldnt then out damage the heal either time :(

I have both infernals in HH breed and still didn't quite do enough damage.

Edit - tried a third time and still a few HP short from the original strat, but managed to add a rip and 2 pounce and kill it before my cub got killed. (edited)

swapped the Rake in the middle (turn 4) for a Pounce instead, I had a P/S netherspace, an SS sapphire cub, and a HP Minfernal, was consistently off my 90 or so, worked first try after the switch

Michele wrote on 2018-11-24 14:02:49

After so many strats, this worked for me with Netherspace Abyssal (P/P), Sapphire Cub (S/S), and Minfernal (P/B). Thanks!

I had a BB Minifernal and couldn't get the above strat or velnia's alt strat below to work, but simply using pounce instead worked perfect.

This was the trick I needed too. Minfernal P/P, Sapphire Cub & Netherspace Abyssal H/H

Raiann wrote on 2018-01-19 16:26:07

I managed to do this with
Court scribe (1,1,2)
Jade oozeling (1,1,2)
Trunks (1,2,1)

1.pass
2.switch to court scribe
3.curse of doom
4.pass (court scribe dies and jade oozeling comes in)
5.acidic goo
6.corrosion
7.pass (trunks comes in)
8.headbut
9.moonfire

It failed the first time when snozz attacked trunks 3 times

for me that I didn't have the HH breeds for [Netherspace Abyssal] and [Minfernal], I used the one with most life at the begginning and the one with most powerful attack as 3rd pet, and with a single crit from any hit, Snozz fells

Sarl wrote on 2017-09-10 19:22:00

Finally got this annoying battle to work. Tested it 5 times. Won twice.

Jade owl (1465 health) Rush, Trash
Netherspace Abyssal (1725 health) Immolate, meteor, explode
Sancum cub (1400) Leap, pounce, black claw

Jade owl - Pass
Abyssal - Immolate, meteor, explode, bring in cub
Cub - Leap, black claw - owl forced in
Owl - Rush, Thrash (should hit about 3 times) will die
Cub - Leap, pounce x2

From wowhead, thanks Roeevv!!!! worked first time

By roeevv (2,831 – 1·10·30) 3 days ago (Patch 7.3.0)
magic:

Mini Mindslayer (1,-,2)
Viscidus Globule (2,2,2)
Sanctum Cub (2,2,2) - i used b/b (1481 hp). the lowest hp breed might have lower chances.

1. Mini Mindslayer > pass.
2. Viscidus Globule is forced in - swap manually to Mini Mindslayer.
3. Mini Mindslayer > Eyeblast > Life Exchange (the amount of hits you get doesnt matter).
4. Viscidus Globule is forced in > Acid Touch > Creeping Ooze > Poison Spit.
5. Sanctum Cub is forced in > Black Claw > Leap > Rend.
* unless your Cub got critted or tripled twice - the boss should be dead.

Great great great strat!! Thank you :D

RadiantGlyph wrote on 2017-10-21 10:43:24

Worked exactly as posted!

One note, if you have the P/H breed Sanctum Cub, make sure you have pets 2 & 3 slotted in this order. The P/H cub has the same HP as the Glob, and Void Gate defaults to the next pet in sequence if there is no 'highest health' pet to switch to. If you have their locations switched around the cub will be swapped to instead of the glob each time and the strat won't work.

Oceanaia wrote on 2017-10-26 15:58:27

I vote for this strategy as well. I used a SS breed on Sanctum Cub and it worked. The single RNG is the turn before Leap. If Snozz makes a triple attack on cat then it is a lost battle with SS breed.

Yeti Uprising wrote on 2017-09-08 12:40:02

Had to alter Matt's strategy below to get it to work for my pets and breeds. There's still RNG here, but it worked for me.
Minfernal (P/B) x,x,2 / Disgusting Oozeling x,1,2 / Lesser Voidcaller (H/H) 1,1,1

Pass, Void swaps
Curse of Doom > Siphon Life > Pass, Ooze swaps
Acidic Goo > Corrosion > Pass, Minfernal swaps
Explode, Pick Void
Shadow Shock

EyeSage wrote on 2017-09-08 18:08:34

This worked but I needed netherspace abysmal in place of minfernal My minfernal was not PB the Netherspance Aby had enough health to make explosion bigger. I still lost 3 times from crits, but I could tell its should work.

Vermivora wrote on 2017-09-08 21:35:16

This also worked for me on the first try but my minfernal is H/P

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-09 17:10:34

Worked for me. H/P Minfernal and H/H Voidcaller.

Darkmart wrote on 2017-09-13 18:22:08

My Voidcaller was B/B, but this strat can still work :

Oozeling first spot - take one hit - forfeit
restart fight - take one hit - forfeit

Now put minfernal on the first spot and restart. your oozeling has less HP then Voidcaller but more of the minfernal and you can follow the exact same strat.

kurwa wrote on 2017-09-18 22:22:39

wrendarla

wrote on 2018-04-19 11:05:41

Minfernal H/H is best if you can get it, since it has more health to explode with :) tried with my P/P Minfernal and it just didn't cut the mustard.

velnia wrote on 2018-03-04 21:01:38

Netherspace Abyssal p/s
Sapphire Cub s/s
Minfernal p/b (2,2,2)

Pass
immolate
explode
prowl
explode
pounce
rake
pounce (win just barely)

Lilyoptra wrote on 2018-04-01 18:01:07

Worked with my P/P Netherspace and my H/P Minfernal. (Original strat did not) Just had to add an additional Pounce at the end. Thank You.

Tworob wrote on 2018-04-01 18:43:41

This also works using as mentioned breeds and abilities by Velnia's post but with a B/B Minfernal. Agree with Lilyoptra's response that had to add an extra pounce to the end.

Maelchon

wrote on 2018-04-09 00:18:51

Agree with Velnia, the strat as written kept failing but when I switched to Immolate on the Netherspace Abyssal and Prowl (before being rotated out, which seemed weird but worked) not problems at all.

Khes

wrote on 2018-04-12 03:34:01

works perfect if you don't have the breeds specified above. i'm confused about why you use immolate instead of crush on turn 2 (i had to do it to get this to work with pp ss bb respective breeds.

Kathleene

wrote on 2018-04-09 00:54:31

I didn't have the specified H/H breeds, but it worked just fine with P/S, S/S, and P/S, respectively. Thanks again, Lazey & XuFu.

This first strategy does not work at all unfortunately. Change turn 4 to Pounce and as long as RNG doesn't get in your way, it works far better.
