For achievement I used Xu-Fu (212) as backup; though I didn't need it.
For leveling I used a 16+ pets (didn't have lower except lvl 1 but that is too low).
General tips: use Blood Boil and Burrow in this order when they come out from CD (the duration of CDs is RNG dependent regarding to how much dmg your pets are doing).
Strategy for leveling pet is below. For achiement ignore the switching leveling part.
Against Mist Wraith:
Skitter-Skitter-Burrow-Blood Boil-Skitter. (Mist dies)
Against Crawdead:
Skitter until Blood Boild is out of CD. Then Blood Boil - Burrow - Skitter until Crawdead goes into Undead phase
Switch to leveling pet. Crawdead dies and Gnaw comes in.
Switch back to Thornclaw Broodling.
It depends on how much HP your pet has but usually Gnaw kills it with its long CD ability Breath of Sorrow.
Switch to Mr Grubbs.
Acidic Goo - Consume - Burrow - Consume. Usually Gnaw is dead by now.
Note: I used Chomp instead of Consume with the same success.

2/1/2 for both foxes.
Spam Flurry and use Crouch when damage is coming. Dazzling dance when his pets resurrect. If foxes die, finish with 25 beast.

When two pets of equal speed meet, the game does a coin toss to decide which goes first each round.
I just did this battle three times - once with an S/S Kid (325 speed) and twice with an S/B (289 speed). All three worked fine for me. Even if the Kid loses all the coin tosses, at least one round of Stampede must hit Mist Wraith, leaving him with the Shattered Defenses debuff.
As far as I can see, the worst possible case of bad RNG might be that your Kid dies before Comeback, leaving your Fel Pup to face a more than half-healthy Crawdead, and requiring two or three hits from Fel Pup. I don't know if that's possible; I know it's not likely. I certainly didn't see it. Since you have a third pet, you might well still get through it.
I used a H/P Mudback Calf for my third, for the Water Jet, strong against Gnaw, but I never needed that advantage.
