Brought a level 1 pet with me and made it go first, during the Pet Bonus Event + 25% XP food I gained 5850 XP. Leveled from 1 to 13.

I used a level pet as my 3rd (level 16) Put him in first, swapped to anub and cleaned up the fight. also followed Scandi's advice about the 3rd ability not being deflection.

It may be a good idea to take a different thrird ability, as it deals additional damage to mechs. Just for faster clear.
