What you should attempt is to take advantage of moves that always go first and stunning after it starts its 3-round attack. In most cases, you can finish it off within a round or right after the second cannon.

I didn't have 3rd pet, so I used Chitterspine Skitterling, Black Claw then Swarm finished the fight.
