In my third slot I was using, Nuts, as a backup but I never needed him, so realistically you should just have any pet in that slot with 1400hp or less as I believe it would be prioritized by the swap from "Dead DEckhand Leonard".
On some occasions, Leonard might be using the swap against your Dodge, and that occasion is what this guide depicts. Note: If your pet gets swapped and Dust Bunny comes in instead of Noblegarden Bunny, just proceed with Dodge on cooldown followed by 2x Flurry and then Burrow |

I tested half a dozen or so times with Black Lamb S/B, Fire Beetle H/S and Lava Beetle H/H, didn't fail in any attempt. Inspired by DragonAfterDarks team setup.

My Sneaky Marmot is an S/S breed, which helped a lot as Deck Deckhand Leonard's speed is 330. Also I got in a crit of 864 in Turn 2. So restart the fight until you get a massive crit from Chomp.
Noblegarden Bunny I chose due to it's abilities and speed. If you got Sneaky Marmot as S/S, then your 3rd pet can be anything with a speed higher than 330 |

A consistent team with some gothy critters. RNG often changes the rhythm of the fight but the pets listed will still get the job done.
