My experience with this was one hit point remaining as well. This happens if you get ZERO crits on 17 hits (15 Shield + 1 Jolt + 1 Discharge).

You could put in a conditional that if Malfunctioning Matrix is not in its Mech Rez on Turn 5 you'll need to Jolt. If it is in Mech Rez you'll need to pass. This made sure that, with no crits, we both died at the same time ^^

I ran this with a P/P Stormstruck Beaver and at the end of round 7 and not doing a single crit, MM had 1hp left :O Lucky all my remaining level pets can do 1 hp and survive flock :p

I have to presume I was crit (I forgot to check crits against me) and that it is to do with beavers health and allowing all 5 flocks to go off on you, so probaably not much you can dp :p

Am I missing something here? Is this just using level 1 pets for kicks and not to level them up? Not seeing a step to swap pets, nor does the Malfunctioning Matrix die at the same time as the Stormstruck Beaver (like the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling on the Ashlei battle).

As I intended and worked great for me in all tests. Then today the Malfunctioning Matrix survived with one whopping point, meaning that there's RNG in rounding somewhere at the very end. I will have to spreadsheet a bunch more test runs to determine the probability and devise more fine tuned pet stat requirements as well as additional steps when necessary in order the strat always works.
