Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

DragonsAfterDark: This strategy has been updated for SLs changes. In keeping with the spirit of the original strategy, we're using speed boosts to get faster than Snozz, DoTing, and Stampede for Shattered Defenses. Because of the SD nerfs, we just need a little help with Wild Magic.

RNG from crits still present for your Anxious Nibbler. 1 Void gate hit (560) + 3 Flanks (280x3) is exactly 1400, hence the health restriction on the Anxious Nibbler. Health restriction on pet 3 is to make sure the pets are swapped in correctly. Speed restriction on pet 1 is to make sure Lick will make you faster (it puts Snozz at 281).

Low XP
Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

So much RNG... It finally worked for me with Zoom (H/H) by puting acid goo before headbutt like Coro said, other snails (not H/H) died before placing the acid goo

This worked wonderfully for me in Dragonflight, Pet 1: (B/B) Pet 2: (P/B) Pet 3: (B/B) Just added a Ooze touch at the end and it died with 2 pets alive (edited)

Failed twice in a row in SL

worked on first try with HB snail. Though, it took an Ooze Touch to finish the fight

This did *NOT* work with an S/S Rapana Whelk for me. Switched it out for an H/B and it worked like a charm. I'm fairly certain the S/S just lacks the HP to deal with the final hit.

Coro

Does not work in SL

EDIT: It does work with a bit of luck. Also I used Acid Goo before Headbutt. The Whelk died after Headbutt and the DoTs did the deed. (edited)

I had a problem aswell, it took about 20 tries, before I finally got extremely lucky and got it. The headbutt will NOT kill him, because of the boss cap on dmg. I woke my neighbours when it finally worked.

The team I got lucky with: Rapana Whelk BB, Grizzly Squirrel SS and Red-Tailed Chipmunk HB (edited)

Me too. I got super lucky on first try. Any strat that requires a stampede effect to work needs to be revamped or tweaked so that luck isn't required. (edited)

Followed the script. After Headbutt Boss still alive. ?!? Script ends. Great I thought, wth .. ooze touch - boss died ... that script above needs changing/addending

Acidic Goo before Headbutt. One and done. TY!

Arakyra

wrote on 2020-12-31 06:29:12

Replaced the Grizzly Squirrel with Alpine Chipmunk (H/P - most health), squeezed in an acidic goo when the whelk got it's turn and got the fight done after 2 tries - the dot of the acidic finalized it for me. Had barely any health left, so was a really close call.
TY for posting this tac!

Finally worked for me with - Shimmershell Snail (H 1790, P 305), Death's Head Roach (H 1627), and Red-Tailed Chipmunk. Roach casting Hiss before Swarm + Snail surviving to get a Goo before Headbutt, I think did the job. The Hiss allowed the Chipmunk to go first and straight to Woodchip then stampede.

Scooter the Snail as other snails did not have enough hp after turn 7 ooze touch then step 8 (edited)
