Tried this with Ikky, Direbeak and threw in an Albatross for fliers.
Ikky got him to about half. Went downhill from there.
Tried again but swapped in Sharptalon for Albatross and put in 2nd slot.
Ikky almost soloed, had him to 148 hp. Sharptalon rip finished him off.
Just posting in case anyone wants for flier achievement.
Also all these strats work. But rng plays a major role. I got smoked that first time. Second time Foulclaw did. Have to remind myself of that sometimes when the frustration factor kicks in :-)

I found the Direbeak Hatchling and Hogs (stampede, finish with maul) could 2 man this guy. I couldn't quite get it to work with swapping in the third pet for xp, though. I was trying to get the Direbeak Team Rumble (2 humanoids) to give me credit for this fight, but evidently it didn't count as a pet battle world quest. Sad face.

I love battling with my Falcosaurs and adding a leveling pet to the mix is a bonus. At first, I couldn't get Bobbi's Falcosaur strategy to work. Then I put my leveling pet in first place. He did his mandatory first-place hit while Foulclaw cast Greater Apocalypse, so no damage to leveler. I then brought in Sharptalon who used Rip & Swarm. When he died, I brought in Direbeak who used Ironskin, Swarm, then Predatory Strike. Foulclaw was down and my L13 Sanctum Cub was now L14. Thanks for the strategy, Bobbi. With a little tweaking, it worked perfectly for me.

no offense, but this strategy sucks. it feels incomplete. might as well make the 2nd pet an Ikky as well, and repeat once the first ikky dies.

This strat kinda worked for me. I used Ikky though he died before the beast did, as a backup I used my Direbeak Hatchling with Swarm and Predator strike which finished the fight.
