Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Those fangs aren't that bad. They are actually kinda cute!

Iron Starlette died in the other battle...so used Runeforged Servitor 2-2-2 instead and it worked.

Not the best at making scripts but it works for now until someone compresses it :)

You cannot use these methods unless you have 3 of each of the listed pets or you log out to an alt and heal (cheating the purpose of the dungeon).

This section is for the first time you go through the dungeon (easymode). Click on the red skull top left for the challenge mode :-) The strategies there work with a fixed set of pets.

Not sure if im retarded but I can't find a red skull?

Aranesh

wrote on 2018-08-11 03:35:21

That's because I removed that whole section yesterday :S With the dungeons being pretty easy to complete, it didn't make sense to have this split between normal and hard mode.

Tanda

Honestly, now those strategies are a mess, without a challenge mode strategies, as several pets are supposed to be used in different fights, which is impossible

It's just calling for a new tool for these and for the Celestial Tournament - one that takes all the new additions of the page into account, right? :-)
On my todo list. For the moment, it's unfortunately a manual process to go through the strategies and pick the ones you need

First of all, thank you for making this amazing guide, it has saved me SO many hours of wowheading. I love you for it. I have to agree tho, I really do miss the red skull here, as I used it every week (and I'm retarded so I don't remember which ones to use STILL)

Aranesh

Well, the main reason why I consolidated the guides was not that I wanted to change it or desperately wanted to get rid of it - it wasn't a bother. The reason was that the hardmode quests relied heavily on the Teroclaw Hatchling, and since that little guy was nerfed, I went through all the strategies last weekend and noticed that these hardmode guides are pretty much gutted.
I hope to find time soon to create a better tool for the three dungeons!

And thank you for the praise! :-)
