I tried this a few times with a PP Inland Croaker, SS Chitterspine Skitterling and followed the steps manually. No wins.

I am not sure if a change in luck also played a part, but I won when I changed to a PS Chitterspine Skitterling and tried dreamgarden's script.

Took a few tries with a B/B Inland Croaker before it worked for me. You need good RNG on Bruce so he doesn't kill your Croaker before you can Ice Tomb -> Blizzard (i ignored the ice lance). On failures I couldn't get Blizzard off first, so he had too much HP for the rest of the start to work. Chum and Bruce also took two Skitters each to kill with an S/S Chitterspine, but from there the strat worked. (edited)
