The strategy works with either a P/P Long-Eared Owl or a Fledgling Warden Owl, but the Long-Eared Owl's slightly higher health makes the strategy safer. The script will automatically switch to the variant I've posted in the comments if your level pet has enough health. Inspired by a strategy by Salty Goldfish that unfortunately stopped working due to Shadowlands changes. |

I have also removed the Staff Pick (because of my intervention on the strat), and reset the ratings. I have tried to keep the essence of the strat by not changing slot #1. That said, I will be marking this as RNG, because if Stormlash kills Hogs with a crit before his second Stampede, it's unlikely you'll be able to finish this fight. |

Even though alpha strike is "weak" against dragonkin. with black claw and the Lightning storm. just 2 alpha strikes without any rng will kill stormlash. And you only recieve 1 weak dragonkin buffed roar which does litterly no damage at all. Then your hatchling will just wreck Whiskers. And you can predict when he cast survival and you then switch to your level 1 carry pet and back to your hathcling ;)

For Whiskers (might need a bit more testing):
- Alpha Strike
- Dodge (Dive misses on this turn)

If Zandalari Anklerender has breath SS then the fight take more time, since your strategy only use Leep(364).
Your strategy do not swap to leveling pet.

That trigger Gnome to be vulnerable to Whiskers.
Even you swap in level 1 pet in Turn 7 (not turn 6 obviously).
Gnome will get killed when swapped back in.

Stormlash has 1769 HP.
Here's the numbers from the Battle Log:
Using Turret with Black Claw from an S/S Anklerender gives three hits on Stormlash consisting of 199 from Turret and 307 from Lightning Storm = 3*(199+307) = 1518
Using Turret with Black Claw from an P/P Anklerender gives three hits on Stormlash consisting of 232 from Turret and 359 from Lightning Storm = 3*(232+359) = 1773
So the Black Claw from a P/P Anklerender only just guarantees the kill by 4HP. Of course, a crit from a less powerful breed would also do the trick about a third of the time.
I am not clear where those numbers come from. Possibly I'm tired, and missing something obvious. I'll leave the elements here, and get back to it.
Basic Turret does 124. S/S Black Claw does 118. P/P Black Claw does 144. Lightning Storm adds 25% to Mechanical damage, and 35 per hit in Stormlash's case.
I finish the strat differently:
Stormlash Dies
Whiskers Enters
Swap in Level Pet (as Whiskers Dives)
Swap back Gnome (to take the hit from the Dive)
Turret
Metal Fist
Whiskers dies from turrets
That also may require a P/P.

After Build Turret, you need a Metal Fist to finish Stormlash.
Then Repair. You will hit zero and Failsafe during the repair.
As Anon wrote when starting this comment, swapping your level pet in on Turn 6 results in it getting hit with a Surge.
Unfortunately, I accidentally killed Whiskers with a crit, so that's all I can do for today.

I assume you're using the Rematch string. I have to add specific pets in the string, although here on the guide it is not specified. I can't change it to a variable that uses your highest level fox available, because Rematch does not support such a function (yet?).
However, you can change the fox in your setup and overwrite the team in Rematch. It should then use the correct fox every time you load the team :-)

Thanks for introducing me to this strat. It was very entertaining - once.
Whiskers died about Round 30, OK, but Stormlash held on until nearly 40. The battle ended on Round 55.

I was really struggling coming up with a good strat for this fight, since back in Pandaria I never used it to power level pets. While looking through the net I came across this Lava Crab strat. Loved it because it's so stupid yet effective (not to confuse with efficient :D ). One time indeed, but hey it's an alternative to bring elekk plushie along if you don't have the other pets for it!
