Here is my version of the fight.

I agree: do not pass on turn 8, I had to use Deflection again. The order of the moves are very slightly different.

Also I choose to put something other than the Elek in as 3rd pet just in case. I think I messed up the order by hand once (without using the macro) and I had to do less than 100 damage remaining on the enemy but I had only an Elekk pet left, which cant do damage so I had to forfeit.

followed this strat, but used stoneskin instead of sandstorm. Anub made it to Dah'da (and beat him about halfway down) as the stoneskin absorbed all the cold attacks from not swapping.

I tried as you said and everything worked perfectly. I was using the stoneskin instead of sandstorm. My Scourged Whelping was H/H Uncommon rarity and level 24. When Whelping came in Dah'da was full hp and still managed to kill him solo. Was working on [An Awfully Big Adventure] achievement and I'm glad that I don't have to do it again :) Thank you very much!

First try - Bingo! Worked like a charm, and I'm now the proud companion of Trunks! It's been a long grind. The hardest part was obtaining and leveling up all the pets that I needed for the Celestial Tournament. It's a proud feeling once it's done, though. Yes, bad luck is not cool. If Wrathion is the main one giving you problems. I'd make sure to start with him. That way you don't have to do the others over again as well. Always remember to do the hard ones first.

I have the worst RNG. Keep failing this repeatedly with "miss" on crush and sandstorm. I've lost count how many times I've tried and this is the only one I need for the achievement.

Pass on Turn 8 is not a good decision since it doesn't matter if you deal damage or not, but Anubisath get's healing as he's humanoid.

Are we in the same fight? My experience bore absolutely no resemblance to the one listed here. When you say Cindy enters her undead round, what do you mean? There was no change that I could see and it was the pass turn that sent everything south. Maybe something was changed and there is no longer an undead round?

The "undead round" refers to the round after an undead pet reaches 0 life and resurrects for 1 round. During the undead round they cannot be killed but they will die at the end of that round.

Hey everyone! Thanks for the pointers. I tested the strategy a couple of times again and can confirm what you say. There is a good deal of RNG involved. Sometimes Alex even dies too early and the timing is off. It does however work in many cases and I'll leave it here for now. I added a disclaimer however :-)

Due to miss chance from Sandstorm and Call Darkness, this strategy is very RNG dependent. I failed twice in a row and then during my 3rd try Anubisath Idol almost killed second pet.

I was able to get this to work after a couple tries and one slight change. Probably just some RNG but once Alex comes in I had to throw in a crush before deflection to avoid getting the water bomb dropped on my head. It also avoided one of the breaths in the same round that took me out previously. Strat does work, just pay attention you might need to change it up slightly.
