The revised strat work fine now. The issue before, with just 2 pets, was more of RNG, as I won 2 in 3 tries. BTW, I think ANY moth (that has moth dust) will work as long as the speed requirement is met.

No longer a working strategy in SL. Ikky gets off a single Flock (if you don't have a crit landed on you, zero if you do have a crit) and then the boss is left with ~1200 health and it's all over. Bring another Ikky and you might have something. (edited)

This no longer works with a single ikky in 9.0. I was able to win with a second ikky, though.

in order to complete what he's saying, with the flock changes my ikky didnt kill flummox but left him with 200hp more or less so with the moth having more than 272 speed he can finish the fight with a single attack or the third pet as long as he has more than

If your Ikky keeps dying; put a low level pet on the 3rd slot. After you use Call Lightning, swap to the low level pet, let it be one-shot, then swap to Ikky and proceed.

Could also do counterspell, call lightning, then throw in a reckless strike. Moth dies, swap to Ikky.

my Ikky died. Switched back to my moth used reckless strike. Had Golden Eaglet in third slot used Slicing Wind 1 time and Flummox died. :)

I'm helping my spouse with Family Familiar, and needed this fight. The highest level moth with the needed skills was only 23, but I decided that for 2 rounds the risk was worth it. The moth survived, and is now 25, and Ikky finished the fight as advertised. Talk about a heart stopper....!

I used a green lvl 23 H/P Vale Flitter and it did just fine. After all it only takes direct damage on 1 round. My Ikky died due to a crit but my thir pet, Bilescourge, turned out to be really amazing on this fight.

My Ikky kept dying, so I just put another pet with a Swarm ability (Hatchlings from the WQ work) to finish him.

I used Snowfeather Hatchling: 1-2-1
Crouch > Falcosaur Swarm > Predatory Strike > Falcosaur Swarm (Snowfeather dies)
Dread Hatching: 1-1-1
Call of Darkness > Nocturnal Strike (Boss dies, you win!)

I had a Direbeak Hatchling as backup in case I needed it to get another Falcosaur swarm up, but I did need it.

Worked perfectly first try! I don't have Dread Hatchling so I used Long-Eared Owl 1-1-1. Northern Hawk Owl will work also 1-1-1. Owls are a nice substitute for Dread Hatchling since they are easy to come by and also offer Call of Darkness and Nocturnal Strike.

Ikky died after the first round of flock, but swapping to a bloodgazer hatchling killed it the next turn (any swarm bird should work though)

I've never bothered to level up Ikky, but here's a strat that worked for me:
Snowfeather Hatchling 1-1-1
Bloodgazer Hatchling 1-1-1
Northern Hawk Owl 2-1-1

Fight goes like this:
Squawk
Swarm
Predatory Strike
Hatchling Dies - bring in Bloodgazer
Predatory Strike
Swarm
Hatchling Dies
Quills
If it didn't hit 3 times to kill him, use Call Darkness & Nocturnal Strike

This strat seems incomplete, bc I still had to bring the moth back in, counterspell and reckless strike in order to beat him.

I found it easier to have my first pet use any ability after Counterstrike - and Call Lightning as the cast before being killed. (Important) This way there's no free attack on Ikky - and he lives longer to flock more.

i had trouble with this strat as Ikky died after the first round of flock, so I used a crow in the third spot with murder. This worked great because there were still 2 rounds of black claw left from Ikky.

[Pterrordax Hatchling] 1 - 2 -2; [Shimmering Aquafly] 1 - 1- 2 ; [Teroclaw Hatchling] 1 - 2 -2
use [Apocalypse] at begin then [Feign Death] and use other 2 pets to dodge and heal until 15 rounds pass and [Apocalypse] kill him

This worked for me as well, lost my first run due to ikky Dieing. Casting reckless strike before call lightning helped ikky live, could possibly do it after call lightning too.

The Vale Flitter from Val'Sharah also has the same abilities as the Moths and the Sporewing you've mentioned.
Dunno if it makes a difference, but it comes in: B/B, P/P, H/P, P/S breeds.

I used Stormwing and a Nether Ray. On the first turn, I flew, then I did flock. After, I switched to the Nether Ray and in two shadow shocks he died. I imagine they could be substituted with similar pets easily.

fyi, as is obvious to anyone who checks (which I sadly did not prior to this fight), if going for Flock Together, in the pet 3 slot with back-up flock... don't use bush chicken, as it is a critter, not a flyer.

I had teroclaw as third pet. Ikky died after first flock and Teroclaw finished him of with 2 rounds.

Worked beautifully as written. I had Stormwing in my third slot just in case I couldn't get Ikky's second flock in, but I was able to. Thank you!

Even if Ikky dies on his second round, at least he has to debuff him with the black claw, and you only have to put any flying pet with another flock in slot 3 to finish him off

Wow. Tough. Ikky died before he could do his second flock. I used Chi-Ji in my third slot, and her alpha strike destroyed Flummox. Good strat.

I had some bad luck and ikky died 2-3 times before i could flock more than once, so i used a turkey (any flying pet with flock) as the last slot and that finished it off nicely.

I didn't have the Cerulean Moth so used Stormwing and Ikky only got off one Flock, I used Ji-Kun Hatchling in final spot and he "just" got the final hit to hill

Excellent, worked fine. Cerulean Moth build doesn't matter much, you just need to be able to land the Call Lightning. Then Ikky's Black claw and Flock will kill him, with veryyyy little life left on Ikky. Pray you don't get crit'ed :)
