Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

1 / 11

Your first pet needs to be faster than 288 for this strat to work.

Timing Survival for the intended turns is crucial, if a pet dies too early then restart.

Your second and third pets don't have any significant requirements, just your hardest hitting critter pets will work (any with Bite will work well).

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

Did this with the 1/1/2 Orphaned Marsuul with 2 Spring Rabbit with 2/2/1

Followed strat above with Marsuul

Used spring rabbit with following rotation

Dodge
Flurry
Burrow
Priority #1 Dodge on CD
Priority #2 Burrow on CD
Use Flurry as filler

first part of strat works but you need to use critter that are strong vs critters for the rest of the fight, randoms dont work at all

Unnecessary waste of time. I don't like overconfident builds like this. I copied the rematch string, and two random pets didn't finish the fight. I advise putting critters with strong critter attacks on the remaining slots.

1. -- The Malayan Quillrat has Spiked Skin, which effectively blocks Stampede, so I'm not sure why it isn't used here. I used it on my round 1, then again when Rawly was underground.

2. -- Leaving the strat where it's at, when you do need at least a second pet, is probably not the most advisable thing to do. At least pick a critter that has Bite, or somesuch, and put it in slot 2. The way the strat appears, makes it seem like you can finish the fight with just 1 pet, and you can't.

For me, I had the Quillrat, then the Pint-Sized Pink Pachyderm in slot #2, with a pet in slot #3 with Headbutt to clean up if need be. So my rounds looked like this:

1. Spiked Skin
2. Bite until Beets dies

Rawly comes in

1. Bite
2. Spiked Skin
3. Bite until dead

Bring in the Pint-Sized Pink Pachyderm

1. Headbutt
1. Trample until Rawly dies

Stinger comes in

1. Trumpet Strike
2. Trample / Headbutt until P-SPP dies, or Stinger does

Bring in third pet to clean up as needed.

1. Spiked Skin may be technically the most correct choice here but it
a) doesn't meaningfully change the outcome of the strategy
b) is much more susceptable to crit rng
c) is boring

2. Choosing bite critters would flag an order of magnitude less useable pets than can actually viable. That's a limitation of the website tools, not the strategy as it's written.
I made a deliberate choice to make the strat human readable instead of machine readable and I trust people to be able to identify an ability that does damage. (edited)

DragonsAfterDark

wrote on 2020-05-05 22:09:33

The problem with making it 'human readable', is most people are grabbing the rematch strings, and not looking at what's going in slots, (or reading in general, but that's another issue), but to each their own. Your strat, your choice. *thumbs up*

If "Xu-Fu's Pet Battle Automations" is the goal just say the word and I'll make the changes, otherwise I'll revisit this when the tools are improved.

DragonsAfterDark

wrote on 2020-05-05 22:38:32

Nobody said that, and I did say it's your strat and your choice. I offer optimization on strats when I notice it, and if one move is the difference between, "time this exactly or you have to quit," or "this move makes sure you survive to this point," I'm going to suggest the latter. That's not telling you how to make your strat, it's just a suggestion to help stabilize a strat.

As for the automation thing, I'm not sure why selecting a critter pet, and then selecting only Bite so it'll bring up all the options for people is an issue here, but as I said: it's your strat and your choice. My suggestions are nothing more than that: suggestions. Yes, I do ask why people have chosen one thing over another, and you answered that. I'm good with it, and there's no issue from my end.

Thank you. I'm finally getting around to this, and I appreciate this strat, especially because being able to see the logic behind it was educational for me.

TDScript:

standby [ enemy(#1).active & enemy.hp<514 & round=5 ]
ability(Poison Fang:152) [ enemy.round=1 ]
ability(Survival:283) [ round>3 ]
ability(#3) [ enemy(#3).active ]

change(#2)

Try to put a couple of hard hitters in slots #2 & #3, preferably with Headbutt.

Secretworld

This script uses Poison Fang instead of Bite in the beginning.

Eekwibble

wrote on 2019-08-29 02:23:57

Since Bite and PF are exclusive of one another, no, it does not. If your second and/or third pet have the ability, the script will use PF on an enemy pet's first turn after your first pet dies. Likewise, if you pay attention to the last line of my post and put in critters with a big hitting move in their third slot, that will get used first.

What about the third pet? Any standard attackwill finish Rawly not the fight.
