The first round is random, after that this seems rather solid to me (i've tested like 4-5 times).

There is an element of randomness in this fight, due to the unpredictable moves of Bruce and especially Maws Jr.
But I have been trying this strat repeatedly, and it's never failed me. The timing of Blinding Poison is the most crucial element. It is to negate Chum's Megalodon attack. A good substitute for Fragment of Anger is Cursed Birman: Spirit Spikes, Prowl and Pounce in that order. Script thanks to dreamgarden |

This is a low success rate strat with much RNG. The only redeeming features are that it's fast and it uses mostly common pets. I used a BB blightbreath which has equal speed to the beast pets, but that only adds an extra layer of RNG. If you have a 2nd boneshard restart as soon as you miss 2 spikes in a row, it could save you some bandages.

I really struggled to get any of the other strategies to work so set about finding my own. As a general rule, what I've created has worked for me near enough every time.
There will inevitably be some RNG involved with the stun, darkness and crits etc. This meant sometimes my pets didn't die when I expected them to, particularly with them being undead. The middle bit of the fight seemed to be reasonably flexible in its ability to withstand enemy attacks. To make it succeed, the last prowl and subsequent spectral strike must hit. The speed return then allows an easy finish off. I've continued testing it and only lost one battle. The end of the Bruce fight and beginning of Maws Jr seems to draw the most changes so i've tried to list it as best I can but may require a little tweak during battle depending on your RNG.... Hopefully it'll help at least one person!! |

You may die too early if you're unlucky enough that Slicing Wind only gets single-hits for multiple rounds.

Due to the pets I chose to use and their abilities, the enemy pets are swapping in and out alot.
So just roll with the strategy as written below. Technically your pet in the 2nd slot could be any lvl 25 rare undead pet, so long as it has a ton of health. According to Rematch there are 13 undead pets in game that you can get as H/H breed, which my Blighthawk is. It was fun to constantly see the enemy pets swapping in and out. Sorry for any confusion that might cause. |

(BTW, you didn't have to; anons can also comment, though they won't receive notifications and can't use messaging and have their collections auto-tracked.)
Now you're here, you should link your character to import your pets. This is the best way to track and improve your roster. Really!
Some battles are just RNG, because of variation in moves and/or abilities, and this is the most RNG of all the BfA battles, whatever strat you use. I remember it well, if not fondly.
From the list of comments below, it obviously does work, though with a very solid chunk of the aforesaid RNG.
You don't need all of the tamers in all of the families for the achievement, and I think this is one that a lot of people decided to leave blank in their Family Familiar Helper.addon :)

Overall, 99% of strats work anyway, you're certainly 100% right to skip some NPCs!
I had no idea you could import the pets, that'll be a lot easier than having to search through to see if I have them or not :P
Thanks for the info & tips Grainne, really appreciated!

Call Darkness > Lift-Off > Bone Barrage as priorities against Bruce, Against Maws Jr. I could get a Lift-Off off and Bone Barrage to deal enough damage to keep him just above half health, which allowed Fragment of Anger to finish the fight off as detailed in the OP.

Opened up with Spectral Strike, and if i missed i reset (really seems like less than 50% hitrate). Then it's Bone Bite, Bone Bite, Blinding Poison, Spectral Strike, Bone Bite. It's RNG, but only at the start.
When Bruce comes in, i used the Blinding Poison + Spectral Strike when available (even if i'm likely to "die" that round), and otherwise Bone Bite. Got him down a fair bit, easy for me to finish off with Blighthawk ("Spam Slicing Wind on Bruce. Pass if Bruce uses Bash. Use Consume Corpse at around 50% health, as Bruce gets one more attack before it goes off. Use Lift-Off when the next attack will kill you"). Once Bruce was down, i switched to my 3rd pet (tested various here, both Macabre Marionette with DnD + Dead Mans Party, Infected Squirrel with Creeping Fungus + Stampede, Blightened Squirrel with Woodchipper + Stampede). Once Blighthawk got back in, i'd use Liftoff and that would be that.
Advantage when the RNG is in the very first round, but i can see not everyone would have a P/S Blighthawk.
