Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

10 August 24: Updated script for clarity.

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Team and script worked well as of Patch 10.2 (weird fight, but it works)

92...this was a hilarious and unexpected fight. I thought the script was bugged and was just ??? for several turns, as I'd never fought this guy before. When he stung me and killed himself it was great. Excellent strat.

The main TD Script didn't work for me, but the one mentioned by Prudentius did. Idol died right at the end with the last bee string with that script. Only did it once, so not sure if people will get the same results. (edited)

ya its supposed to be this way, but the script is missing a "switch to next pet on death" line

I haven't ever had the bees kill the Idol before the fight ended completely, but I've added a change(next) at the bottom of the script. Thank you for the feedback ^^

Works in Shadowlands. It is a very strange fight no damage just deflection and they die. I thought the script was bugged at first until I read other comments.

Didn't seem like I could Edit, Delete or Respond to the comment I just posted so here's the edit I wanted to make.

OK, what isn’t clear here is that this is a waiting game. Follow the directions and the enemy will kill themselves over time. So don’t freak out like I did when my Idol died. You have two other pets to kill the time.

I would recommend the second pet is one that has Deflection (like a Flayer Youngling) in case your Idol dies before the 11th turn.

Thank you for this added info! I had never fought this trainer before and didn't understand it's a completely bizarre fight. Thank you for the suggestion of Flayer Youngling too -- I needed mine!

thebl4ckd0g wrote on 2019-04-24 00:10:22

you can almost have a non lvl 25 for the 2nd slot, as I got unlucky on my first go round of this strat and he died.

Only achievement says "a team of all level 25 Humanoid pets" ;)

CircleA wrote on 2019-04-27 16:09:38

So, according to the directions, I’m supposed to cast Stoneskin then just stand around twiddling my thumbs? Shouldn’t I at least try to do some damage to them?

I tried following the directions (Who knows, maybe they do something to damage themselves?) but all I witnessed was my Idol turn the other cheek so many times that he turned into a puddle of jelly. Never had to worry about deflecting the sting (turn 11).

It was the strangest pet fight I have ever had - but it works. Thx!

Geki wrote on 2018-12-27 16:31:00

If you want to be less bored you can use smash as filler to recover some health from the humanoid racial.

The fight is over quicker if you just pass, since it skips your animation. You shouldn't need the extra health to outlast this fight either.

Since I had to go pack and look, for those wondering the "first sting" listed as Pri 2 is Turn 11.
