Substitutes:

1
Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Low XP
Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

after numerous attempts that ended badly, i managed to kill it with: pandaren water spirit (1,2,2), tainted waveling (1 1 2) and corehound pup (1,2,3), as follows: dive, geyser, get in the ooze, apply acidic goo, creeping ooze, ooze tounch, corehound pup - howl, scratch, scratch, scratch, scratch, pandaren water spirit - dive.

Thank you, andreea! Not having two of my pets for the Alt. 1 strategy up to level, I substituted this one instead, and it worked very well. The only issue I had was Corehound dying a round too soon. Water Spirit cast Geyser again and then dove the next round when OoM used his Cannon. All up, job accomplished.

Thank you, this worked great!

Hamz wrote on 2017-12-26 09:00:58

I threw in a Burrow instead of the second Scratch, and the pup finished the fight. My waveling lasted longer than instructed though (it got killed by the second Cannon.

tried your strat multiple times, seems there is 2 steps missing at death of water spirit.used fist of forest then lash then shield

Choppaaz wrote on 2018-05-31 07:46:20

in fact this works great ( some RNG but almost great ), Just follow this strategy :

Forest Sproutling (1,1,1), Shard of Cyrukh (1,1,2) and Pandaren Water Spirit (1,2,2) - FS has to have 289+ speed

1- Refuge
2- Fist
3- Lash
4- swap to Shard
5- Flamejet
6- Darkflame
7- Fel Immolate until Shard is dead
8- Swap to PandaWS
9- Geyser
10- Dive
11- Jet until Geyser is ready again
12- Geyser
13- Dive ( PandaWS will die after it and Sprout comes back )
14- Refuge
15- Fist
16- Lash ( if needed until he dies )

if it didn't work then you have to do it again...

Dive, Geyser, Swap to Core Hound.
Scratch, Howl, Scratch, Burrow, Scratch, Howl (Die, Swap to Molten Corgi

Edversnap wrote on 2017-09-25 21:07:58

This worked for me. (My sproutling was not fast enough for main strat). Make sure to use the Puppies of the Flame 1 round before his Antaen Cannon is off of cool down. This way you dodge an additional incoming Consume thus denying hi the heal and you are able to superbark while he is still in recovery.

Ariellè wrote on 2017-12-16 10:39:01

This swap works! It works with an S/B Nightshade sproutling

Celzerias wrote on 2017-09-05 20:43:23

For whatever reason, Refuge doesn't let my Forest Sproutling survive the first attack. I swapped in my Pandaren Water Spirit (122) instead.

Dive then Geyser then swap to my Treant and continued as the strategy above says. Worked first time after that pet swap.

Didn't have a speed sproutling so this worked great. Thanks!

Yewfire wrote on 2017-09-13 08:06:48

Worked first time. Thanks!

I had to bring in the water spirit for another round of geyser/dive at the end, but that took care of it.

abi wrote on 2017-10-31 04:47:34

I did this but didn't geyser. Just did the PWS dive, then swapped straight to the treant and followed the original strat.

Worked great!
...the second time, because the first go-around I miscounted the Antaen Cannon cooldown. <_<

Rifkin wrote on 2017-09-01 21:15:49

Very frustrating!! Haven't unlocked the Nightmare Treant yet and the only other pet with these abilities seems to be the Nightmare Lasher which requires a lvl 105 druid. Have tried all sorts of combos. Closest I've come so far Pandaren Water Spirit (121), Lil' Ragnaros (122) and Core Hound Pup (112) but can't quiet get enough dmg.
Any other suggestions would be great. Will look at leveling my druid in the mean time :/

Mili wrote on 2017-09-02 19:44:08

I actually managed to do it with Pandaren Water Spirit, Gooey Shaeling and Core Hound Pup since I have neither forest sproutling at 25 and haven't yet ben arsed to obtain Nightmare Treant. With water spirit I used Geyser and not whirlpool since Geyser stuns, and I used 1, 1, 1 on Shaeling. I've tried with Shaeling several times and it has worked each time, all that is needed is that the canon is timed right with water spirits dive and core hounds burrow/dodge.

Caoimhin wrote on 2017-09-03 23:57:36

@mili could you possibly write down what you did turn for turn?

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-05 01:15:40

Dive, Geyser, Switch to pet #2 and do weather/dot/smack and die.
Go back to Water spirit and repeat for pet #3
Finish with Water spirit.

Rifkin wrote on 2017-09-05 10:03:09

Woot!! Yes got this to work, thought this was going to be one I would be stuck on for ages. Almost thought I wouldn't be able to do it cos I didn't think I had a Gooey Sha'ling. I did and he was lvl 17, leveled him up and had a few cracks at it. Ended up using 211 on Gooey and smashed it :D

Jadefire Spirit (222), Crazy Carrot (211), Tiny Twister (212).

Jadefire Spirit - fade
switch Crazy Carrot - blistering cold
switch Tiny Twister - call Lightning, wildwinds, flyby
when ~200 health switch to crazy carrot - blistering cold, ironbark (dies to canon)
tiny twister - call lightning, flyby
jadefire spirit - whatever, fade for last two rounds

Thank you Loveliest, confirmed!

Many thanks Loveliest, worked 1st time and Jadefire Spirit was still at full health :)

Loveliest strategy should be default. Works like a charm.

Thanks this worked superbly well

Worked!

meddle wrote on 2017-09-01 03:52:09

I led with Soul of the Forge (1,1,1) since I don't have a Forest Sproutling. It just needs to not be oneshot by Antaen Cannon turn 1. Flamethrower > Deep Burn, continue with above strat. I didn't need to bring it back in. This will be inferior to using the sproutling though, obviously :)

Snowy6 wrote on 2017-09-03 00:21:55

Love it!

Works great!!! Thanks!

Kessyra wrote on 2017-11-01 17:34:01

Awesome thanks! I needed to bring Soul of the Forge in to soak the cannon before bringing in the Core Hound Pup. Then used burrow when he went into undead turn.

LirameiRav wrote on 2017-09-12 09:41:01

I mostly followed pheonix47 strategy but I'm one of the 10 people that still don't have Pandaren Water Spirit. I used Water Waveling (--1) instead with Core Hound Pup (112) and Lil Ragnaros (122).

Waveling - Geyser (die)
Core Hound Pup - Scratch, Scratch, Howl (geyser hits), Burrow, Scratch, Howl, Scratch (die to cannon)
Lil'Ragnaros - Conflagrate, Sulfuras Smash, Sulfuras Smash, Sons of the Flame, Sulfuras Smash

suutar wrote on 2017-10-14 22:53:36

this is what finally worked for me (though CHP's last scratch didn't happen). The sons of the flame finished him off.

Pandaren Water Spirit H/S (1-2-2)
Tainted Waveling S/B (1-1-2)
Pandaren Earth Spirit H/P (1-1-2)

Pandaren Water Spirit
Dive, Geyser
Bring in Tainted Waveling
Acidic Goo, Creeping Ooze, Ooze touch until acidic goo falls off, then acidic goo.
Bring in pandaren Earth Spirit
Mudslide, Rupture, Stone shot, maybe needs another stone shot to win.

My tainted waveling was at like 30 HP before I could get off the last acidic goo, so maybe a higher health breed would be better

Dedeea wrote on 2017-09-28 07:27:50

Needed a bit of action with Pandaren Water Spirit at the end, but worked just fine. Good strategy if you don;t have Core Hound Pup

Anonymous wrote on 2017-10-03 16:55:37

Worked!

Cerby wrote on 2017-10-05 09:23:56

The Waveling HAS to be S/B, it's the only breed that gives it enough speed to land that last Acidic Goo before dying to Antaen Cannon. You don't need more Health, all the attacks deal a nonrandom amount of damage.
