Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

This can be done with other breeds and even 2 petted, see comments for more details, but this is the most consistent way I've seen of beating the encounter, with the biggest RNG part being early on.

Low XP
Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

It was totally worth it to fly back out to Arathi Highlands and pick up a second twister.

actuall managed this with a HH Fozling. figured worth trying and got the crit needed to make it possible

if anyone has the same problem as me - first pet not even close to kill Chum - try using elecrtified razortooth (shield, rip, blood in the water, rip, here he dies, and then your twister comes and finishes Chum with lightning storm) instead of those listed in this tactics.

Shrek wrote on 2023-09-09 09:48:14

Oh my god! Thank you so much this worked, I tried beating this for 3 hours, trying every tactic listed here, on youtube and every forum i could find about this and could not get him down. Switching out with Electrified Razortooth worked! TRY THIS PEOPLE!!!

I originally 2 petted this with a H/P twister, but it has the added RNG of wanting you to go first with your first Call Lightning and your Bash.

H/H Fozling is the worst breed because his quake doesn't bring Chum in range of your Twister's Call Lightning and he's too slow to even have a chance of pulling off an attack turn 4. It should still be possible to do it if you try enough times to get a crit at any part of the Quake or at the Call Lightning, but this would reduce your odds by a ton.

Breeds of Fozling with Speed could theoretically allow him to get his attack off t4 before he dies and allow non Power breeds of Tiny Twister to kill Chum with just 1 Call Lightning, but I haven't tested it.
