These legendary pets are scattered throughout Shadowlands. You can find maps of them on their individual strategy sections by hovering over the magnifying glass next to the coordinates.

Defeating all 10 will reward you the achievement Abhorrent Adversaries of the Afterlife and the Winterleaf Spriggan.

Found Gorgemouth (failed experiment) near flightpoint Keres' Rest at 54.07, 28.10 but also not part of the achievement. Strange. Why create them?

Gorgemouth (and others) are the ones you kill for the world quests. All of them are significantly less difficult than the 10 pets you kill for the Abhorrent Adversaries achievement. (None of these 10 can be a WQ to my knowledge)

So poor Scorch isn't part of the achievement? I found him and beat him, but don't see him listed.

Scorch is part of the WQ set, not the Adversaries set. The only achievement attached to him, is completing x number of Shadowlands WQs while they're up in.
