I bet it was intended to be a 2022 Blizzcon/Blizzconline pet, and Drakks was supposed to be the pet we got with the game, but because there wasn't an event they shifted the Murk pet to the game edition and Drakks as a pre-order bonus. That's the only explanation I can think of for why we got two pets with an expansion.

So I've read that you get one of the pets from the BASIC edition and the other one from the HEROIC edition. Does that mean you'll have to buy both editions to get both pets or are we presuming that you get both in the HEROIC edition?

Drakks comes with all editions as a Pre-Order bonus pet. As long as you Pre-Order Dragonflight before the xpac goes live, you get him with any edition.

Murkastrasza comes with the Heroic & Epic editions no matter when you purchase Dragonflight.

If you bought the heroic edition right now, you'd get both pets with a single purchase. Same with the epic edition. You do not need to make two purchases to get both pets.

ah yes, another overtuned ability. but dont worry, i'm sure making it rely on rng will totally fix it and it won't create frustrating moments at all
