Comet 1-1-2 instead of Lesser Voidcaller is even safer, has more health so no issues with high HP manafiends. Replace Prismatic Barrier with Illusionary Barrier and use Nightmare instead of Curse of Doom, it does enough damage.

Good strat. Subbed creeping tentacle p/s (1,2,1) in place of voidcaller. Subbed illusionary barrier for prismatic barrier and creeping insanity for curse of doom. Worked first attempt.

I don't understand how this works. Shadeflicker dodges on turns 2, 8, 14. So I followed it exactly, as going smoothly and my surge of power was dodged on turn 14.

my guess is that your Manafiend is too slow and therefore Shadeflicker is going first and dodges your Surge. The Manafiend must have 246+ speed in order to be faster at step 14 and get the final kill. it could be because its not rare or not 25 (otherwise all Manafiends have good-enough speed). hope it helps.

Thank you so much for relaying this strat. I could not field any of the teams here, and don't have Shimmering Wyrmling either. However, I found a rare Felcrazed Wyrm (lvl 23 after capturing) nearby and used that since it has both Feedback and Deflection as well. Put that in the 1st slot and this worked just as well.

Can also use Creeping Tentacle instead of Lesser Voidcaller. Might even be better, since Creeping Insanity deals damage one round faster than Curse of Doom. Just make sure its HP is higher than your manafiend, and you should be good to go.
