Not sure if this is new to SL, but I noticed that if I manually switch to Ikky as mentioned in the guide, Ikky gets shot with Void Gate and replaced - so Ikky loses health + gets swapped with another. If I then manually swap in Ikky again, Ikky has too low HP to survive for the rest of the steps.

To fix this, simply just add a Turn 3 for Boneshard, where you Pass. Boneshard gets hit by a final Void Gate that way, and swaps with Ikky. (edited)

This worked for me (SL) with the change: "add a Turn 3 for Boneshard, where you Pass".
