The key to this fight with Humanoids, who mostly have weak attacks against beasts, is to chip away at Chitara's shell with multiple-round attacks, like stampede or rampage. I won this fight with a lot of trial-and-error and realise the pets are not the easiest to get, but for those who have them, at least here's a strategy that MIGHT work. Not saying it will 100%. Note: Chitara will almost always go first with a speed of 367.

This has a chance to fail if Captain Nibs gets stunned, not to mention the XP here is negligible. It'd probably just be better to have another pet on hand to clean up, as opposed to trying to get the meager XP.
