Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!

Very easy fight with this strat. Wumpas died on Bloodfang, since hunting party wasn't enough and that is the main change from the script.

Surprisingly, this works in Slands!

huldu

wrote on 2020-10-14 12:35:16

As of SL pre-patch this actually worked. Had to make a change on 2nd pet fight since it wasn't enough to kill him using black/hunting party but bloodfang finished it off. The third pet fight could be really rng dependent. If he crits you it might be gg, he constantly got 3 hits off on me. My spider almost died.

wrote on 2018-10-10 01:12:19

Pretty neat strat, works perfectly for me!

Angelakane wrote on 2018-08-08 16:10:15

I didn't have two dinos leveled, only one, or a fast enough spider, so I went with Zandalari Anklerender, Summit Kid and a SS Rose Taipan (don't know if any other breed would work)

I followed the plan for the Anklerender, when it died, I sent in Summit Kid and used Stampede. That killed the second pet, and I managed to apply the debuff on Baeloth. When my Summit Kid died, I sent in my snake. Used Vicious Fang first, while Baeloth still had the debuff, then Blinding Poison, followed by Puncture Wound. If Baeloth isn't dead yet, use another Vicious Fang.. I don't know if it helps anyone, but I figured I'd throw it out there :)

Khes

wrote on 2018-04-03 00:19:29

don't have any dinos or anything else suggested here, went with feline familiar and 2 spiders.

prowl pounce, switch, web/leech spit/leech rotation until everything is dead (wumpas kills first spider, bring back feline familiar for healing debuff until dead).

took a few tries and a bit of luck (not guaranteed by any means) but defo a cheapo alternative if you don't have any of the more rare pets listed here.

Kathleene wrote on 2017-09-10 14:41:23

This strategy worked like a charm! I'd tried several rounds with critters and failed miserably each time, so thought I'd give beasts a try. I really needed a win to lift my spirits. My Forest Spiderling was faster than Baeloth and with the combo of Black Claw and Brittle webbing up, the Spiderling Swarm cut through him like a hot knife through butter. My spirits are definitely lifted! Thanks, Xu-Fu folks!

purzlschn

wrote on 2018-03-15 10:03:24

worked even with a level23 spider :)

skarpethinn wrote on 2017-09-10 01:06:32

FYI - you will NEVER get your Black Claw ability off with your active Zandalari on the 2nd opponent each one faces - you're either stunned (Wumpas) or prismed (Baeloth) in the first attack each one does, which means you die in the second round of each fight without getting a hit off. You need a good spider to hold out on this fight - and Spiderling Swarm doesn't kill Baeloth, either, so i suggest casting Poison Spit as your second attack after Brittle Webbing, or selecting Strike as your Slot 1 attack for the last round or 2.

ziboo

wrote on 2017-12-09 17:27:37

Agree on the Black Claw on Wumpas/Baeloth. Tried with a SB spider, didn't work. SS did with a poison spit after Spiderling Swarm.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-03-15 23:06:24

Since I don't have any Zandalari dino leveled, I used
Cinder Pup (2/1/1)
Argi (2/2/1)
Albino River Calf (2/1/2)

1. Volcano
2. Immolation
3. Switch to Argi
4. Stampede (Argi dies on last Stampede against Wumpas - bring Cinder Pup back in)
5. Flame Breath
6. Volcano
7. Flame Breath (Wumpas dies)
8. Switch to Albino River Calf (he takes the stun)
9. Pass
10. If Baeloth got stunned from Volcano, use Takedown, otherwise use Headbutt
11. If Headbutt stunned Baeloth, use Takedown, otherwise use Water Jet until Baeloth dies

(this might not work everytime since when I tested it, I got 2 rounds of stun on Baeloth from Volcano, but ended up with Albino River Calf almost full HP and Cinder Pup still alive in the back. Clobber instead of Headbutt might be safer, not sure if it works)

Robodin wrote on 2017-11-14 04:01:32

Worked like a charm on the first attempt, thanks!

Elemjay wrote on 2017-04-26 03:33:59

Worked just fine for me, with one small change.
S/S Anklerender, Black claw + Hunting Party killed Thurg. Applied Black Claw to Wumpus, who then killed my Anklerender with Headbutt.
Sent in P/P Kneebiter, started off with Hunting Party since Black Claw was already applied. Killed Wumpus (he tried to Hibernate in his third round but too late!).
Baeloth stunned Kneebiter, and then applied Roar, but since Wumpas had done close to no damage on him I still managed to apply Black Claw before Kneebiter died.
H/S Amethyst Spiderling applied Brittle Webbing, so Baeloth got himself down to half his HP, and one Spiderling Swarm ended the fight with my spiderling still having 700 HP left.

Mergas wrote on 2017-09-10 23:05:01

Had to use a P/S Kneebiter and an H/P Amethyst Spiderling. I used your modification against Wumpus, worked wonderfully! My Kneebiter lasted long enough against Baeloth to not only Black Claw, but start Hunting Party. Because of that, the Spiderling barely hit him with the Swarm before he died. Had around 500 HP left on the Spider, but a win is a win.

replaced the kneebiter with a summit kid. My anklerender was able to survive long enough to apply black claw to the 2nd pet and stampede was all that was needed.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-09 17:25:09

Worked for me too. Thanks

Anonymous wrote on 2017-08-09 06:10:57

This does not work with Felspider - noticed too late that it doesn't have Spiderling Swarm ability. Oops. However, after webbing Baeloth, use Poison Fang. Works just as well. (May or may not require you to have the S/S breed, which I do. Rare at lvl 25 has 341 speed.)

Was able to 2pet this with Zandalari Anklerender (2,1,2) and a Pygmy Direhorn (1,2,2) (easily substituted for a Direhorn Runt)

1. Black Claw
2. Hunting Party
3. Hunting Party cont. (Thrugtusk dies)

4. Black Claw
5. Swap to Pygmy Direhorn
6. Stampede
7. Stampede cont. (Wumpas dies)

8. Pass (stunned)
9. Trihorn Shield
10. Stampede
11. Stampede cont.
12. Stampede cont.
13. Trihorn Charge (Baeloth dies)

GreySage wrote on 2017-02-04 00:38:20

Works much better than the listed strat. The listed one doesn't work unless your spider is faster than the last pet, and it also wastes a bunch of turns. Not very good over all.

Chem wrote on 2017-02-21 13:30:47

Direhorn strat worked perfect. Plz add

Galarian wrote on 2017-02-21 14:59:36

This should be first strat. Works like a charm and quick!

Veyska wrote on 2017-02-21 21:18:36

Was having no luck with either strat, suspect due to breed/speed differences. Got this strat (with the Direhorn) to work with an S/S Footslasher (222), substituting Exposed Wounds for Black Claw and using Primal Cry to finish off Thrugtusk after Hunting Party.

Laura wrote on 2017-03-16 07:20:36

This strategy worked great, i used the Direhorn Runt in place of Pygmy Direhorn. Thanks

Pandaness wrote on 2017-04-26 16:41:59

Worked first time, and yes definitely a two pet strategy, in fact both my Zandalari Anklerender and my Direhorn Runt finished with over 50% health. Far from being a tough fight it's actually one to consider bringing a levelling pet into!

Muqaddisa wrote on 2017-02-21 11:47:45

PB Kneebiter PP Anklerender and PB Feverbite Hatchling did the trick for me. This was a very reliable strat.

Doesn't work. I used Feline and Xu as 2nd and 3rd pets. Was able to easily beat this.

Istaro wrote on 2017-02-03 17:38:38

How?

Glasgoth wrote on 2017-01-03 10:51:07

Swap in the spider for the second round instead if you are having trouble. It can take out Wumpas and then you can swap the dinos back in for the last one while using hunting party as a finisher.

Sawfty wrote on 2017-01-26 05:58:53

Thank you! This failed over and over until I read this!

Healboy wrote on 2017-01-25 13:40:32

For the Bloodgazer quest (win w/ 2 beasts) I altered this a bit.
Zandalari Anklerender [2,1,2]
Spider [2,2,2]
Bloodgazer Hatchling [1,2,1] - Not sure this was best selection (thought I selected Swarm instead of Predatory Strike) but it worked.
- From memory, so close as I can remember...
1 Black Claw
2 Hunting Party (Thurgtusk dead)
3. Black Claw (Zandalari dead)
4. Spider Brittle Webbing
5. Spiderling Swarm (Wumpas dies)
- memory fuzzy here, but think spider died quick against last pet, not sure if any attacks
6. Bloodgazer Reckless Strike
7. Predatory Strike
8. Slicing wind
9. Slicing wind
Note: wold be cool if there were a seperate tab for the pet battle with hatchling quests

Snowy6 wrote on 2017-01-25 19:36:10

Works but the Zandalari Anklerender has to be faster than 280

Healboy wrote on 2017-01-25 20:26:04

You are correct, I got lucky first time with a weak hit allowing for 2nd Black claw. My Zandalari Anklerender is Rare Destruction w/ 276 speed. First try on 2nd Alt w/ noted changes:
Changed Bloodgzer Hatchling to [1,1,2]
1. Black Claw > Hunting Party (Thurg dies)
2. Zandalari dies / Spider in > Brittle Webbing > Spiderling Swarm > Poison Spit > Brittle Webbing until Wumpus dies (wonder if Srike better than Poison Spit?)
3. Spider dies / Bloodgazer in > Warning Squak > Falcosaur Swarm! > Falcosaur Swarm!
Winner, But I did not get credit toward the quest? Maybe can't win against same opponent?

Nynavae wrote on 2017-01-25 12:13:26

When the Anklerender comes in, use black claw instead of leap. Only way I could get it to work.

Simca wrote on 2017-01-03 15:27:25

Worked fine; even used a level 23 spider to soak the experience.

Ominous wrote on 2016-12-29 23:15:58

Fluffyrock's setup, using these tactics, worked first time. It wasn't even close.
Some people might struggle, but then some people can't tie their laces.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-12-29 10:42:32

Couldn't get this to work with P/S Kneebiter and P/P Anklerender. Swapped out the Anklerender for an S/S Toenibbler with Flank and Black Claw and won without even needing the spider

Fluffyrock wrote on 2016-12-29 08:11:02

Worked 1st try for me with 2 Anklerenders (one P/P, one P/S) and an Ash Spiderling (B/B). Used Black Claw + Hunting Party on both Anklerenders to kill the first 2 Pets and then finished 3rd Pet with Brittle Webbing, Spiderling Swarm and Strike.

Camille wrote on 2016-12-29 07:25:43

Worked great--I had S/S Kneebiter and P/S Anklerender and followed the advice of Ven in the comments below--omitted the Anklerender's leap and all went very well, nearly managed all three pets, in fact. My spider only needed one move to finish Baeloth.

Poochi wrote on 2016-12-26 07:58:43

Got it on 2nd try with a slight change. First off, both my Dinos are P/P breed and simply were not fast enough or had enough health to survive. They'd kill 1st pet, then first one would die when 2nd pet came out. They couldn't even get black claw off. Then when my second pet was out, I'd cast Black Claw ASAP, followed by Leap for speed bonus. Then Hunting Party killed it. On third pet, it'd destroy my dino before Black Claw could be applied. With Spider I used Poison Spit FIRST, followed by Webbing and Swarm. A crit on the poison is what killed it before it killed my spider.

didn't wrk fr me at all, tried it multiple times and with slight variati0ns but wumpas did n0t g0 d0wn f0r me

Niven wrote on 2016-12-25 02:36:58

Didn't work untill i used S/S breed on second pet. You need more than 329 speed to be faster. than last enemy. Easily 2-pet the fight

gent wrote on 2016-12-19 19:03:14

If your anklerender is faster than wumpus use hunting party not leap turn 1. Everything else is fine.

Ven wrote on 2016-12-19 10:28:41

Works perfectly with an S/S Kneebiter and a P/S Anklerender (just omit the Anklerender's Leap). Thanks!!

gerana wrote on 2016-12-03 21:05:45

crystalline broodling (122), forest spiderling (222), and jungle grub (112). Cast brittle webbing before swarm, use first ability while swarm is on cool down. Use first 2 pets until they die. When you get to grub use burrow to avoid the stun from Craig's last pet. As long as you are keep the damage ticks up and maximizing the swarm you should finish the match with grub at half health.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-12-03 14:44:29

The Leap with the Anklerender makes this not work. Just skip that step.

Burton wrote on 2016-11-26 19:20:44

Did this with a S/S Death Adder Hatchling, 2/1/2. First pet: Blinding Poison, followed by Puncture Wound, Vicious Fang until dead. Wumpus comes in, do the Blinding/Puncture combo every time Headbutt is off cooldown, VF filler. Killed Wumpus fine and managed to do one final BP/PW combo on Baeloth when he finally died. I used a Smolderweb Hatchling to finish him off, but he was so low anything would have worked.

Virulence wrote on 2016-12-03 13:11:05

Thanks so much for this. After giving it 6 or 7 attempts with the above strategy, I tried the S/S Death Adder as you suggested. The S/S Death Adder solo'd all 3 beasts in the encounter.

Sarth wrote on 2016-10-25 19:54:49

I used Xu-Fu (1-1-2) instead of spiders, My second Zandalari had enough health at the time the basilisk came up, and once he stuned it, I chose to swap to Xu Fu, then Prowl+Feed, and a single Spirit Claw to finish him off, and you beat him with 2 pets still alive :D

Rzzr wrote on 2016-10-26 04:21:49

Xu-Fu worked for me as the third pet. The spider didn't work and always died. I didn't have 2 pets alive at the end as both Zandalaris died but the strategy worked with Xu-Fu.

Zutebear wrote on 2016-10-26 04:46:57

After several tries on posted strategy, the Xu Fu option worked first time. Thanks.

Khakiass wrote on 2016-11-12 12:37:55

I agree with the above, my spiders would always be one round short of killing the basilisk. Xu-Fu worked first time, as advertised.

Vilarcheg wrote on 2016-11-26 06:40:59

Worked awesome with Xu-Fu, spider never did the trick and always died 1 turn before he could manage a kill. Thanks for advice friend!

Donsta wrote on 2016-11-26 16:40:26

Xu-Fu after the stun for the win.

Daedrynn wrote on 2016-10-25 17:19:36

Felspider and Burrow Spiderling lack the Swarm ability. Perhaps the strat could have a note to indicate that "Any Spider with Swarm ability" is needed? I did try the Leach Life option but it failed.

Jen wrote on 2016-11-12 19:00:01

Agreed! was very irritated to get to the end and find it requesting an ability my spider didn't have.

Stella wrote on 2016-11-12 17:26:18

The Kneebiter killed Thrugtusk withbackclaw and hunting party, and was able to get a bloodfang in on Wumpas. Then Anklerenderer killed Wumpas with backclaw and hunting party, and was able to decimate Bealothwith leap, backclaw and hunting party so the spider only had to do brittle webbing for it to die.

Tyrsa wrote on 2016-09-23 03:47:16

Kneebiter, anklerender, Spider (s/s) all (222)
Vs first two: black claw, hunting party. Knee will die, ankle will be stunned by Bael. Swap to spider. Brittle web, poison, swarm. Done.

Tried this multiple times with P/P zandalaris and it never worked. Worked first try when I swapped the kneebiter for an S/S so it could black claw Wumpas before my kneebiter died.

Tigra wrote on 2016-10-08 03:02:34

This won't work unless you have a very fast spider. The Zandalari took down the first two pets no problem, but Baeloth destroyed by spider before I could get swarm out.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-10-06 20:51:34

does not work at all the ankl render NEVER does enouh dmg with hunting party not even in P/P also the spider will only ever get brittle webbing off before dying to the last pet cause of the stun basicly taking 3 hits in row

Evgeni Kirilov wrote on 2016-10-07 22:03:00

I literally just did this with a P/B Kneebiter, P/P Anklerender, and an H/P Smolderweb Hatchling. Thrugtusk died to my Kneebiter's Hunting Party. I did however ignore the "Black Claw until..." instructions and went for damage instead (i.e. Black Claw + Bloodfang for the Kneebiter, and Black Claw + Lep for the Anklerender). Baeloth died to my spider's Brittle Webbing.

Tyr® wrote on 2016-10-07 02:43:21

I had no kneebiters at max, so I used 2x Anklerenders. The first is full speed build S/S, black claw then hunting party. Right before he dies, land a final black claw. The next Anklerender comes in, this one's a full power build P/P...finished off with a Felspider 2/2/1 - brittle webbing then poison fang and puncture wound.

Noel wrote on 2016-10-06 19:42:21

Jerigord wrote on 2016-09-18 21:40:42

Allaura wrote on 2016-09-18 20:11:35

I was able to win this fight with Zandalari Anklerender as I never needed to use Bloodfang, Thrugtusk was always dead before this point. And I used a S/S Spider instead of Direhorn Runt. Since he always goes first I used Poison Spit, Brittle Webbing and then Spiderling Swarm. I believe I had to do an additional hit with Poison Spit. May have to try this combo more than once if you get really horrible RNG but the spiders speed is key here. I doubt a slower spider would do the trick. Good luck!

Sela wrote on 2016-09-18 05:45:52

My Direhorn Runt couldn't kill Baeloth. Maybe because I was unlucky with charge and it kept missing or maybe because I have an H/H Direhorn Runt. When I subbed it or Feline Familiar, it worked out fine, though it was a pretty close call. Oh, also, when I imported this time with Rematch it used a Dun Morogh cub instead of a Direhorn Runt in the third slot :)

Anonymous wrote on 2016-09-18 00:19:23

absolutely not doable with the direhorn runt, but very much doable with the FF or DM Cub

Jeack wrote on 2016-09-07 20:58:25

Feline Familiar can be used instead of direhorn runt. FF is someone you will need for other fights, and direhorn is only used once in this guide.
