Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

worked but for 2nd try with spirit, i used geyser then dive then water jet

JacktheKnife wrote on 2017-09-18 16:05:47

Went with:
Crazy Carrot (2,1,1)
Tiny Twister (2,1,2)
Soul of the Forge (1,1,1) - most anything will work here tho

1. Blistering Cold
2. Ironbark
3. Ironbark
4. Carrot dies (was hoping to get another Blistering Cold in but bad RNG)
5. Twister comes in - Call Lightning
6. Flyby
7. Wild Winds
8. Twister dies - SooF comes in
9. Extra Plating
10. Flamethrower - Bat dies (fingers of cold+lightningx25% is bad news)

I did this again to be sure and second time I got another blistering cold in and while he died in same turn it had 2 more turns of stacked debuf on him.

Tovia wrote on 2017-10-01 03:01:03

Worked for me after the recommended strat failed 3 times. I used Tiny Snowman in the third slot and used Magic Hat twice. Thanks!

What a great Strategy, thank you, worked perfectly!!!

Mel Lafferty wrote on 2017-10-17 01:58:56

Worked extremely well ... I did get in the extra Blistering Cold before Carrot died. Thank you for this great strat!!

Allaura wrote on 2017-10-17 21:33:38

Great strat! I also used Tiny Snowman in the third slot, just needed one Magic Hat and he was down!

I too got the 2nd Blistering Cold off on my 2nd try of this strat. This should for sure be an alt strat, if not main start. I tried the main start 4 times and gave up to find this one worked 2nd try (I honestly think I goofed the 1st try).

RameyMJ wrote on 2018-10-22 22:14:02

Doesn't work with a P/P breed Crimson Geode. He doesn't have enough health to survive. Elementium Geode (the alt pet listed) is an H/S and works fine.

chinchi11a

wrote on 2022-11-18 17:17:19

It's simply RNG - the first time, my P/P Crimson Geode died before it could go on Turn 2. The next time, I got 4 turns. It depends on what order Deathscreech uses its attacks, which seems less deterministic than some fights.

wrote on 2021-12-19 11:41:48

Couldn't make any of the strategies work - guess draw of the (bad) luck. After about 20 bandages I decided to try something else:
Corrupted Blood (2*1), Fetid Waveling(12*), Tiny Snowman(212)
(might want to swap out Corrupted Blood and Fetid Waveling to get benefit of earlier Corrosion)
Elementium Bolt
Ooze Touch (till dead)
Corrosion
Ooze Touch (till dead)
Call Blizzard
Deep Freeze (was close , probably won't work if receiving a crit)
Magic Hat
worked first try

Deathscreech seems to get a LOT of crits, so it may take a few tries but the strat is perfect.

JBF wrote on 2020-05-07 14:56:34

Indeed. Immense RNG. After 4 fails the water spirit surviving 3 rounds was what finally won it

Revengemoon wrote on 2019-07-30 15:47:30

A lot of these strats used Tiny Snowman or Jademist Dancer which i didn't have leveled/own so I used the following:

Ominous Flame 2 2 1
Fel Flame 2 2 1
Lil' Ragnaros 1 2 2

I used the standard Scorched Earth then Conflag for the first two (with using their first ability as filler before they died.) Then when I got down to Rag I used Conflag then Sons and barely beat him.

Anonymous wrote on 2018-06-07 18:08:05

My strategy, based on a wowhead comment: Fel Flame (1,2,1), Phoenix Hatchling (1,2,2), Dark Phoenix Hatchling (2,2,1). Burn it all. As usual, RNG is a big factor in this, and it still took me several tries (with the last two coming extremely close before I beat it). I'm not sure if breed matters on Fel Flame (I only had the one), but mine was H/P.

1) Start with your Fel Flame and set up Scorched Earth. This serves two purposes: chip damage and treating Deathscreech as burning for Conflagrate.
2) Conflagrate of course.
3-4) Now, depending on what the boss does, you might get off just one Burn, two burns, or none at all (if he crit you earlier or rolled high on claw damage). Just keep spamming Burn until Fel Flame dies.
5) Enter Phoenix Hatchling. Conflagrate again.
6) Immolate. More chip damage is always welcomed. (I happened to have immolate ticks crit on two different attempts, but I'm not sure how helpful it really was.)
7-8) Same deal as with Fel Flame above: Burn until your pet dies. Hopefully you'll get at least one off. If you don't, and didn't get a crit on an earlier hit, you may need to restart and try again.
9) Enter Dark Phoenix Hatchling. Conflagrate once again.
10+) Spam Laser until you win. (Was only one hit for me.)

Good luck!

I was able to replace Tiny Snowman with Ashstone Core (1/*/*) and used Feedback to finish up the fight, other than that followed the strategy as listed above and it worked perfectly.

Felindra wrote on 2018-09-23 14:40:24

Hi, I used Tiny snowman (Magic hat, Call blizzard, Deep freeze), Water waveling (Ice lance, Geyser) and Ominous flame (Spiritfire bolt)

I used:
Crazy Carrot (1 x 1)
Tiny Twister (2 1 2) (H/H)
Ashstone Core (1 1 1)

Bistering Cold
Jab
Died->Twister comes in
Call Lightning
Wild Winds
Flyby (most of the times twister didn't live long enough)
Died->Ashstone comes in
Crystal Prison
Crystal Overload
Pray Deathscreech doesn't crit

Listed strategy worked, just. I had an eye on some of the suggestions, just in case.

Anon wrote on 2018-02-22 14:51:43

This fight is total BS. The stupid bat may cast apocalypse first round. May cast it the fifth. He may hit you for 420... then will hit you for 750 the next. Spent over 50 bandages already.

zmiester wrote on 2018-02-09 23:16:21

Had horrible RNG with the listed strategy and few of mentioned variations, so tried one of
my own that actually worked first time!!
Fetid waveling(lvl23 1.2.2),Droplet of Y'Shaarj (lvl 24 1,2,2) & Tiny Snowman lvl 25 2,1,1.
Started with Creeping ooze, Corrosion, then Ooze Touch. Fetid Waveling died at this point, so
brought in Droplet of Y'shaarj. Used Curse of Doom, Expunge, then Corrosion. Droplet died
at this point. Brought in Tiny Snowman. Used Magic Hat one time, it did crit, but that was all. Deathscreech died. That last magic hat spell was about the only crit I noticed, so could have some rng but did not notice much.. Good luck

Elemjay wrote on 2018-01-31 07:40:56

Just have to check. Does anyone else have the issue that the entire pet battle interface DISAPPEARS midfight? Usually at round 2 or 3. Then it comes back when you send in the third pet... Has happened on every singe lineup on this fight.

Animorpher wrote on 2018-02-02 17:53:57

Sounds like an addon error. Everything updated?

Devany wrote on 2018-02-08 00:57:57

I don't have any addons and yes, this has happened to me. Strangely I'm pacified and not able to do anything for a couple seconds (heal pets, start fight over, even move my toon). I thought it was something on my end so I'm glad to hear someone else having this problem.

Dsc ~ Stormrage wrote on 2017-09-25 16:34:01

Gunnel

wrote on 2018-02-02 12:03:38

Picked up the idea, but didn't have 3 so went with:
Pandaren Fire Spirit 1 2 2
Fel Flame 1 2 1
Ominous Flame 2 2 1

Lisma wrote on 2017-12-17 18:29:48

Elemental Team:
Ominous Flame (P/S) - 2, 2, 1
Fetid Waveling (H/B) - 1, 2, 2
Lil' Ragnaros (P/P) - x, 2, 2

Ominous Flame:
1 - Scorched Earth
2 - Conflagrate
3+ - Spiritfire Bolt. Very rarely Ominous Flame will die before it could use Spiritfire Bolt. If it will use Spiritfire Bolt even once then you're ok. Otherwise Sons of the Flame from Lil' Ragnaros will be needed.

Fetid Waveling:
1 - Corrosion
2 - Creeping Ooze
3+ - Ooze Touch. But most probably Fetid Waveling will die before it use Ooze Touch even once.

Lil' Ragnaros:
1 - Conflagrate
2 - Sons of the Flame if Deathscreech is still alive

This battle is very RNG dependent so things won't always go as described. I have won 8 times in 10 battles. I have lost twice when Ominous Flame and Fetid Waveling both were killed after first turn.

Dubhglas wrote on 2017-09-17 14:19:19

Took about 3 tries to eliminate his crits and rng damage, but was able to do it with : Dark Phoenix Hatchling (2, 2, 2), Pandaren Water Spirit (1, X, 2) and Tiny Snowman (2, X, X)
Started with immolate, to make up for the dark rebirth turn. Laser, then dark rebirth. After rebirth I used immolate then laser until he died.

With Pandaren Water spirit, just geyser then water jet until death. Tiny Snowman comes in and magic hat until fight was over.

therabbit86ed wrote on 2017-12-06 00:27:39

Worked like a charm the first time.

Croewly wrote on 2017-09-03 21:18:46

Here is my set (adapted from above suggestions):

1. Jademist Dancer -- Geyser, Rain Dance, then Jade Claw until dead

2. Pandaren Water Spirit -- Geyser, Water Jet until dead

3. Crimson Geode -- Feedback

There is a bit of luck involved, but after at least 20 some tries, I finally finished this set.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-03 22:17:57

Darling wrote on 2017-09-17 18:11:26

Hi there, he seems to eat my geode alive everytime, opting not to cast his apocolypse. Does this perhaps only work with a health breed? I'm curious about the breed of Geode that you are using for this. Thanks!

Geki wrote on 2017-09-18 08:51:36

There's 2 bits of rng in this fight. I've seen him cast apocalypse anywhere from rounds 1 through 3. And infected claw has a wide, wide damage range. That can make or break the fight.

Darielyia wrote on 2017-10-08 18:52:13

RNG is a b****. The first time he ate my geode for lunch and the second time I was able to beat him.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-12 14:36:42

ominous flame 2,2,2,tainted waveling 1,2,2 and a lvl 20 water spirit 1,2,1 had no trouble with this guy.

Painbow wrote on 2017-09-16 07:29:12

Garbage, bullshit team. Next time post a strat or don't even waste our time.

Valiena wrote on 2017-09-16 09:50:39

With these pets I made it work as following
1. Scorched Earth
2. Forboding Curse
3. Spiritfire Bolt, my pet died here and I brought in Tainted Waveling.
1. Corrosion
2. Ooze touch until your Waveling dies.
1. Geyser
2. Dive, fight won! :)

And for anons and Painbows etc, try to keep the discussion civil and give actual feedback instead of insulting others. These fights can be very RNG due to unlucky crits.

Saiko wrote on 2017-09-17 15:51:10

Valiena - thanks for the strat! However, just a head's up - the Pandaren Water Spirit is listed as 1,2,1 but should be 1, 2, 2 for Geyser.
I also ended up changing my Ominous Flame's talents to 1, 2, 1 and Conflag after Scorched Earth instead. I don't know if that helped but I was having some bad rng and getting critted before that.
And I agree, you don't need to be rude - yes, it helps if the strat is posted but you can ask for help in a civil way! ^_^

Darling wrote on 2017-09-17 18:24:46

Thank you, this strategy and these pets worked beautifully. Sorry there are ungrateful rude people in your thread. Honestly any halfway decent pet battler could have figured out what to do with your pets and abilities not rocket science. Thank you so much again!

Quintette wrote on 2017-09-18 02:07:58

Valiena's strat worked perfectly, although I do suspect I was a tad lucky with RNG. Started with a lvl 24 Ominous Flame and followed the exact steps as per above. Didn't need the PWS as the Tainted Waveling finished him off with 1 Corrosion and 2 Ooze Touches.

I was struggling with the suggested strat, but i did not have a Fetid Waveling and an Ashstone Core leveled up, so I used a Disgusting Oozeling (H/B) and an Elementium Geode (H/S). That worked, just :P

This is one of the harder fights and very RNG dependent and no matter what, the posted strat just didn't work. That being said, I used Ominous Flame 2-2-1 in place of Y'Shaarj:

Strat: If Deathscreech does not cast Greater Apoc on his first OR second round, restart, as this is considered a "free" round for you.

Scorched Earth
Spiritfire Bolt x2 - if you die before the second Spiritfire, restart
Ooze Touch x2 (RNG x3) - if you die before the second Ooze Touch, restart
Feedback x2 win

I tried this about 5 times and it failed every time, until I used Crystal Prison once before using Feedback. That gave me the extra round I needed to kill the enemy.

Perfect! First try

Saryas remember this strat is supposed to be for the all Elemental team for the achieve, Disgusting Oozeling is a magic pet :P

TD Script for Druna's strat

ability(Curse of Doom:218)
ability(Expunge:450)
ability(Creeping Ooze:448) [ ! enemy.aura(Creeping Ooze:781).exists ]
ability(#1)
change(next)

Your Ashstone Core will typically only have two rounds to finish the fight or fail. If it doesn't look like that is possible you should just restart and save yourself time. Also, if the bat never casts Greater Apoc your team is going to get torn apart.
With a 3-shot pet life expectancy it may be better to use a Crimson Geode for the third pet for a slightly higher threshhold of success.

Thanks Druna, first try

Dougula wrote on 2017-09-18 01:06:52

No Crimson Geode so I swapped in Fetid Waveling (Funk Sac) 1,2,1 opened with corrosion then ooze touch until death. (failed when I tried a heal for turn 2)

After that I followed w/Pandaren Water Spirit except I threw a dive in after geyser and finally w/my Tiny Snowman just like the strat above says Magic Hat until the fight is won

Dakini wrote on 2017-09-08 20:50:29

Used Jademist Dancer 2 2 2 Geyser, Rain Dance, Jade Claw until dead Pandaren Water Spirit 1 1 2 Geyser, Water Jet Dive Water Jet if possible until dead Dark Phoenix Hatchling 2 1 2 Laser until boss dies combination of strategies

Just some thoughts (and my strat) , since I've seen a couple folks bring it up now...several boss pets have bugs....Deathscreech is one of them. Some fights, he won't cast Apocalypse at start, like he should. This is a bug. If this happens, simply forfeit, reload your UI and start fight again. This fixes the issue almost every time.
Now, onto my strat:
Crimson Geode - Elementium Bolt > Amplify Magic > Feedback x2 > Geode dies.
Corrupted Blood - Ooze Touch > Explode
Flickering Argunite - Feedback (just one should kill him, if not, smack him with Feedback again.)
Enjoy* : )

Kenah wrote on 2017-09-09 21:19:51

Only one of the pets so far, that doesn't do Greater Apocalypse on 1st turn, so you can get unlucky that he does 2-3 attacks, before the Greater Apocalypse, and screws up whatever You're setting up for him, but Waveling with Ooze Touch is decent, omnious flame with spirit bolt aswell.

First the strat didn't worked for me as written word by word, so the second try I added in Amplify Magic before the first Feedback and that worked like a charm. Just to be sure that it wasn't a fluke, trying it again in a third try was also a success

I used dark phoenix hatchling as last pet, with laser and dark rebirth. Worked like a charm

FlibbitSC wrote on 2017-09-04 15:31:52

This strat *can* work fine, but it's dependent on Deathscreech not getting too many crits.

Boraxius wrote on 2017-08-31 04:23:42

I used Jademist Dancer (2,2,2) in place of Crimson Geode. Geyser, Rain Dance, then Jade Claw until dead

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-01 10:47:16

worked like a charm thanks :)

Thanks - it worked perfectly.

Can confirm, Druna's strat works better.

Elementium Geode is a good alternate pick for first position if you Crimson Geode is under-leveled like mine :P
