2 Magma Ragelings will decimate this team leaving room to lvl a pet. Fireshield, Volcano then spam Flamethrower use Fireshield on cooldown. ONLY use Volcano when it's going away, or you will reset the 2-round cooldown. It doesn't do anything for 2 rounds then works the next 2 rounds.....Even though you would think to use Volcano BEFORE Fireshield you will go FIRST and if you used Fireshield first when he hits you it will do around 400+ pts of damage to him I always get a crit and it's usually 600-800pts.

Really great strategy, I've been using it for a while now.

One thing I just noticed was it was taking 3 Ice lance's to get Pounder to below 25% (unless you get a crit) so I started running Blizzard ~~1st~~ 2nd round when Pounder get's in unless you get a crit. I'm not sure if it is quicker but I think it's one less button press :p

I'll still test it a few more times before I decide whether I'll keep it but so far so good. Here is the complicated script line (Because I couldn't figure out anything simpler);

I did this fight with the Pandaren Earth Spirit 111 + Phoenix Hatchling 111.

03/10/2021 day after 9.0.5 went live and I just used this strat with a brand new level 1 and everything worked like it always has, pounder exploded and RLH died but my leveling pet did not get any experience. Fluke or feature?

Hmm... tested today, got XP in both cases, so not sure what happened back then. Don't remember a problem & hotfix for something like this close to 9.0.5 release.

As someone who had no problem beating this fight, even with different families, it's obviously not a surprise that elementals can beat this easily, I even found pets from non-elementals families that could solo this for the achievements with particularly rare spells like nature's ward, with a traditional triple elemental strategy to make it as fast as possible I wasn't able to do better than 14 rounds, and I have to compliment you on the quickest idea ever: the rotten little helper, with its 333 power, and the call blizzard + ice lance combo, is very effective, since these enemy pets never change weather, so it's a thing being able to solo this fight in 47 rounds with healing pets that reduce damage, but doing that in 11 rounds like it happened (explode didn't miss in my case) is great!

Other clever thing: the rotten little helper has 260 speed, and the 2nd pet has 370, but when it uses prowl it becomes 259, so you've really paid attention to details, this allows to not be hit by the ability buffed by prowl! (editado)

I had no problem winning the fight with this team, but level pet didn't get XP. Note, that in my fight pounder never used explode.

Strategy was never intended to be one for leveling, I only put the level 1 (and got the tag this way) in there so people know they could use pets of any level but they're not guarranteed to even get that small amount of XP. (Pounder can die before even using Explode, Explode can miss and won't kill the "carry" pet due too decreased hit chance etc.)

Really great strategy.
I would advise either changing the 2nd and 3rd pet around, or changing the script as otherwise the levelling pet comes in when Rotten Little Helper is killed which happened to me on my first attempt.

Intended... even if it doesn't give much XP , that's a usual level pet swap. Level Pets have to be active at the end of one turn to get XP and this is the turn when Rotten died for you, it's then replaced with the last pet directly. The other way a level pet gets's XP here is that all carry pets that were active (Rotten -> dies to Explode) are dead when enemies are dead, so the XP is shared between inactive pets.

I can't remember what happened but do know the levelling pet was killed. I use a different strategy now. Nice write-up on the way XP is gained.
