Usually Rotten Little Helper will solo all enemies and is killed by Pounder's Explode so pets in the other slots share XP (I prefer having a backup pet, but you could go for two level pets if you feel safe). Keep in mind that Pounder is using *Unstable Engineering. So Explode has a chance to miss, your Helper would survive and your level pet(s) won't get XP.
