Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

My strategy:
Start with a pet with Decoy.
Switch to Iron Starlette (P/S) and cast Wind-Up.
Switch to Alpine Foxling (S/S) and cast Dazzling Dance, Bite, Howl. Our pet dies.
Bring in Iron Starlette and cast Supercharge, Wind-Up. Enemy dies.

Adalsteinn wrote on 2018-02-02 06:55:03

This strat is a little wrong, you dont have to use supercharge when starlette comes back in, wind up is super effective against him, you can just use wind up straight away. So Turn 1: Wind up: Turn2: swap in stitched pup, attack with pup until he uses undead racial, then use howl. next swap to starlette and use wind up (skipt supercharge) it will die.

edit: if you use the start I posted above, it doesnt matter if gorespine hits you in the beginning.

TD Script for Beasts of Fable using Iron Starlette (1,1,1), Stitched Pup (1,2,2) and Fluxfire Feline (1,1,1). Works on all but No-No, Ka’wi and Nitun
ability(459) [ round=1 ]
change(#2) [round=2]
if [ self(#2).active ]
ability(362) [ self.aura(Undead:242).exists]
ability(499)
endif
ability(208) [self.round=1]
ability(459) [self.round=2]
change(#1) [self(#2).dead]

TD script for this strategy:

ability(#2) [self.aura(Undead).exists]
change(#1) [self(#2).dead]
change(#2) [enemy.round=2]
ability(#3) [!self.aura(207).exists&self(#2).dead]
ability(#1)

Flashk wrote on 2017-10-12 17:46:16

For those who doesn't have the client in english, it might not work, just change the first line to:

ability(#2) [self.aura(242).exists]

I use Unborn Val'kyr (1-2-1) , Ikky (1-1-1) and Any Pet
Curse of Doom - Haunt - Black Claw - Flock

TD Script:
ability(#2) [self.round=1]
ability(#3) [self.round=2]
ability(#1)
change(#2)

Did this with a Zandalari Kneebiter as backup (I haven't paid the RNG gods so they hate me), Ikky died early but the backup did a backclaw - bloodfang for the win. Thanks for the TD script, worked great with this team. (Kneebiter had 87% health left)

Brilliant strategy - please put that into the official alternatives!!

Vindi wrote on 2017-06-27 09:20:31

This one doesn't work for me at all. Starlette is dead before last wind up

Karina wrote on 2017-03-31 00:56:13

Works just fine! Did it on my first try :) thank you

Rakenessa wrote on 2017-03-16 22:59:56

This strategy does not work for Gorespine. Please try your strats before just copying and pasting them.

If you remember, Gorespine has a hard hitting move AND a dot.

unconnected wrote on 2017-03-27 00:14:02

Tested this today with H/H Iron Starlet and it worked fine first time.

Rage Kage wrote on 2017-03-29 23:39:48

It does indeed work, but it depends a lot on breed. Basically the added note up top is dead on. My Starlet is P/S I believe, and it works about 50% of the time.
