One team for all 18 legendary pets on argus! (only one Td Script)

motivation: I don't know if strategies with Ikky will still work after the changes in shadowlands.

I created a flying team which works for all 18 legendary pets on argus. Only the strategy steps are different from fight to fight. If you don't use TD Script, note the strategy steps. TD Script is for all 18 pets. So rematch string and TD Script only needs to be copied once.

Tested 10/15/2020

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

As long as you're using an umbrafen spore with over 324 speed and a crimson spore with over 1700 health, this works perfectly as of this date. I didn't use the script, just followed the steps as written.

Doesn't work anymore

There are several people who investigate reports of problems with strategies on Xu-Fu's. There are designated Strategy Curators, and other regulars who read comments and are interested in the latest.

In my experience, when people leave a short "It didn't work" note, they usually made a mistake. Maybe they used a pet with the wrong Speed, maybe they didn't do a Pass where it was indicated, sometimes they were even using the team and strat from a completely different battle. :)

Sometimes there genuinely is a problem with the strat. This is where the Curators and others come in, checking the strat for weaknesses, and fixing it or removing it if it can't be fixed.

Since most failure reports with no details are wrong, it's not good to waste people's time investigating them. Instead, help them by providing the information they need.

If the strat failed for you, and you want your comment to be taken seriously:

1. Specify EXACTLY which species and breeds you used.

2. Specify whether you read the strategy from the site and executed it manually, or downloaded and used the tdScript.

3. Specify EXACTLY where the first unexpected thing happened, the first thing that deviated from what the strat predicts. What died too early? What didn't die when it was supposed to? What attack missed?

4. If possible, provide a log. You can see your log in the Pet Battle tab of your chat box. You can pull that out, make it bigger, screenshot it. Better still, you can use the addon Battle Pet Log Keeper from Curseforge, and do /pblk and Save Battle when the battle you want to log is complete.

Almost any strat can fail to a really unlucky string of crits, and some difficult challenge strats like the Family ones may fail more than anyone likes, but the people behind this site do their best to promote well-working strats. Do your part. Provide useful information.

umbrafen spore, ss, amberglow stinger hh, crimson spore hh
used the script -
which by the way is pretty much the script for all the argus family familiar strats
worked fine for all the others, just this one it didn't had to swap to a different team

i dont even know where it went wrong, because i wasn't paying attention while i was pressing the autobattle button, but i had to switch to a different team for this fight

Gráinne

wrote on 2023-05-22 09:48:12

Thank you. That is at least something. You dont mention: how many times did you try it and fail?

Kohor

wrote on 2023-05-22 12:24:48

3 times. if you want i'll go back today and pay attention to where it's failing.

Gráinne

wrote on 2023-05-22 19:58:15

That might be helpful in clearing this up.

I just checked for myself. This strat is very short, very simple, and entirely deterministic. You literally take zero damage from Pilfer (apart from you Exploding your Spores yourself). There are no breed variants, speed ties, damage ranges, or process forks because of potential crits or misses.

It is arithmetically impossible for this strat to fail, assuming you are using Level 25 Blues. (You ARE using Level 25 Blues, I presume?)

But the fact that you say it failed 3 rimes using the script means the explanation could be in the script somewhere. I can see that the script doesn't exactly mirror the strat; it has extra contingencies, but I "ran" the script manually as best I could, and none of them arose, so, assuming the ability and aura numbers are right, I don't see what could be going wrong.

I don't and won't use scripts myself, so I can't test.

So yeah, if you could bring back an actual log or at least a careful description of what happened, that might clear it up.

I apologize, for the lack of information, If it was not blue I would have specified. but yes they are all blue

Gráinne

wrote on 2023-05-22 23:47:09

Please don't apologise for that! I wouldn't have thought to mention it either, unless something like this happened, which seems inexplicable. But sometimes people whp fail a strat do not notice their pets are Green or level 23 or something until they go and recheck.
