I am using a P/S Zandalari Kneebiter but have also completed it with a S/S breed.

I put a lvl 24-&-1/2 pet in slot 3. RNG worked out perfectly for me (which is a SUPER rare occasion in my life), as Volcano stunned DS the 2nd time allowing Zandalari to get 1 round of Hunting Party off the next round. At the end of that round DS killed my Zandi, but the Flame Breath debuff** that hit DS at the end of the round was enough to finish it off, winning me the fight. The xp all went to the carry pet and was enough to bring it up to lvl 25!

**(I'm really not sure where the Flame Breath debuff came from. The last time my Cinder Pup attacked with the ability of that name was more than 4 rounds prior so I wouldn't think the Burning debuff would still be on, and AFAICT the Volcano ability doesn't cause Burning nor Flame Breath, so... *shrug*

Doesn't work, tried numerous times, all 3 pets die super fast. will try a different set of pets.. Tried several more times and it finally worked, (edited)

Tried the posted strat over and over, RNG was too much. Instead, I opened with Volcano, and said a small prayer that Deathscreech would cast apocalypse, which he did. This allowed me to cast Crouch, which let to three flame breaths. Lo and behold, Kneebiter finished the fight off with black claw and hunting party.

I just ran out to check this again and won the first time, 8 rounds. I am using a P/S Kneebiter although I don't think this particular fight makes that much difference. If the Kneebiter doesn't finish off the fight with hunting party your 3rd pet shouldn't need more than 1 hit to complete the fight. What exactly was happening?

Just went back out to try again and your strat worked exactly as expected. I was hoping to recreate the nightmare I had the other day to explain it to you, to no avail. Alas, all's well that ends well ;) P.S., Family Fighter is complete, I'm done!!

RNG is rough. Especially if he won't use apocalypse to let Cinder Pup finish 3 casts. P/S Kneebiter couldn't get to his hunting party at all, but Moon Moon as 3rd lucked out, lived long enough to Moon Fang, twice, which finished beasts (FINALLY) for me.

This killed me first try; the dino dies early. Worked the 2nd time. I wasn't paying too much attention but I believe it was most probably because of a crit against the 1st pet.

I didn't have Cinder Pup so I substituted my Infernal Pyreclaw and used Scorched Earth in place of volcano. I won and I think that was possible by using my Zandalari Anklerender as my 3rd pet and just hunting party the rest of the time.

Works in SL prepatch. Bring an extra swarm or hunting party pet for the third pet, incase you get (like me) crit-killed before the first hunting party.
