By attacking once or applying a DoT first you could use any of your Explode pets with ~1500HP. (or even less depending on the damage that attack or DoT will deal)

I did the Unborn, The Zandalari Anklerender and a lvl 6 Flow. Curse of Doom, Haunt, brought in my lvl pet and did Whirlpool, then Zandalari with Black Claw, Hunting Party, Black claw, then brought Unborn back in and Shadow Shocked. Worked on the Swoglets to get Vortex to a smaller size and worked on Vortex. This way I lvld my Flow from 6 to 12 after fighting 3 swoglets and Vortex.
Worked GREAT! I used Enchanted Pen, Enchanted Broom, and Ikky to kill 3 Storm-Touched Swoglets to bring Vortex to rare first. Got a Air Storm Essence pet with the win. (edited)
I've tried this twice and and the Z. Kneebiter was unable to finish the fight. I would recommend putting the Z. Anklerender (any breed) in the third slot for the easy win.
