While Immolation is much, much better for backline healing, I've found out Lance-flammes adds a little more stability, as dropping a DoT later means it smoothes out the Brûlure's RNG. You can use Immolation first cast only, but you will risk Gyrexle healing out because Failsafe didn't trigger. I think it has something to do with different backline/weather abilities affecting the Gyrexle's health in a way that causes them to use Réparation late/early enough. And considering that the pet is very cheap on AH, there's hardly any excuse not to use that strategy. But for this one, i was basically messing around to bring back a little bit of a challenge, while also playing it safe. This not only works wonderfully on this fight, but to me it is one of the most brilliant pet battle strategies of all time. I love how you call upon Baal to sacrifice himself for the better good. I also love the precision of this strategy. If you don't follow it exactly, you will most likely fail, but folllow and you are gauranteed success. I have run 50-100 of these battles and have won every single one, as long as I follow it perfectly.

Thank you to whoever came up with this strategy. I love it. There's only one other strategy that I like the same, and it too sacrifices specific pets for the good of the battle.

It is also a great way to level a pet. Doesn't matter which level you use, any level 1 pet will get lots of points from winning this. (edited)

Strat works great with Baa'lial if you don't have Baa'l. Go 1 * 2 and use trample instead of Scorched earth. Same strat otherwise.

Works perfectly, as long as you follow the instructions to a T. I've tried changing it up, but the timing gets jacked. Do no sway from the pattern! :-)

For the longest time, I was using the Anubisath Idol/Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling for this fight. It usually works, but it's slow. Also, the timing gets a little messy sometimes, due to the variable damage of the Idol's hits, and the fact that Sandstorm reduces the chances to hit.

But since I recently acquired my Baa'l, I decided to give this one a try. Wonderful. Makes short work of Idol of Decay and Wishbright Lantern.

This will be my go-to strat from now on for this fight.

Patch 9.1 TomTom coordinates for all six Draenor Master Tamers using Wowhead map pins and zone numbers (eliminates the need to differentiate between Outland and Draenor). Can use anywhere in the game. No need to be in the same zone or on the same continent.

Something got goofy with this strat in 9.1. It has worked perfectly for as long as I can remember, but the lantern does something different now it seems.

So, on turn 5, swap tp B'aal and proceed as usual. At some point you have to throw in a Shadowflame to finish off WBL though. The other issue is that Gyrexle got his heal off, so there's a bit of RNG involved if you get any crits.

I thought it was just a script bug, but no - this is unplayable even by hand until the bug gets fixed

Not working in 9.1, at least with a P/P Inland Croaker. Croaker is dead before Baa'l would come in each time.

Strat is having issues with BB Croaker

Idol doesn't die at turn 5 and the TD script goes sideways as a result. Tried manually with same result, the Idol being alive borks the strat later

Tried substituting a PP Rotten Little Helper with same ability set and used same strat. He died at turn 9 (edited)

Idol should be dead at Turn 9. Make sure that your croaker is rare and level 25.

Doing it right now. It works fine. Call Blizzard + 2x Ice Lance + Ice Tomb kills Idol. I'm using a H/H croaker and this one is even weaker than a BB croaker.

I'll be damned - didnt realize the croaker was not rare. The rematch UI change makes it less noticable. I'll fix that and retry

While Immolation is much, much better for backline healing, I've found out Lance-flammes adds a little more stability, as dropping a DoT later means it smoothes out the Brûlure's RNG. You can use Immolation first cast only, but you will risk Gyrexle healing out because Failsafe didn't trigger. I think it has something to do with different backline/weather abilities affecting the Gyrexle's health in a way that causes them to use Réparation late/early enough. 	Raindawn	I'd like to start off by saying that the suggested strategy using Puddle Terror is by far the safest strategy out there, i was able to solo it with just Sunlight/Nature's Ward, killing off the back line entirely during the first encounter. And considering that the pet is very cheap on AH, there's hardly any excuse not to use that strategy. But for this one, i was basically messing around to bring back a little bit of a challenge, while also playing it safe.
