Thanks, this worked for me first time despite the main strat failing multiple times. I'll note that I used Deflection when the lantern's Illuminate was off cooldown to prevent even more damage, and kept Anubisath in until it died.

Modified the strategy a bit:
Turn6+: Pass when Idol is about to die - this will usually be when Decay comes back up and I'm about to cast deflection.
Deflection next turn, then crush - switch to Elekk on Undead round.

When Lantern comes out, Elekk eats the Illuminate and then switch directly to Pandaren Dragonling. Breath until Lantern dies.

Dragonling should force Gyrexle to use repair and kill him once - Anubisath kills him before 2nd repair gets through.

Turn 6 should instruct to Crush until the Idol dies and Dark Rebirth activates, that's what the ''resurrects' means, not the racial. Although, this strat would be faster if it just said to bring the Plushie in, or pass/Deflection (on Rot) while Dark Rebirth is being cast.

Tough fight! Following these instructions exactly was the only way I was able to beat it. Even with the poor RNG damage (e.g., MPD's Breath only hitting for 250 damage, and Anubisath Idol's Crush missing completely), this strategy still works.

It may be due to the breeds I have, but this strategy consistently does not work for me. My Mechanical Dragonling is usually killed by the lantern, or killed well before Gyrexle dies.

I believe the Idol can only be H/H and the MPD can only be S/S so I think it's not breed. This strat works most time for me even when I have to improvise a little (like my idol crushes her idol to just above 300 and then kills him causing Dark Rebirth to be unavoidable) and only fails if I get a little unlucky with RNG and I'm trying to carry a pet so low they can't soak 2 hits to avoid the rot for my Idol.
I think the important things here is your idol is trying to deflect rot by her idol (though you'll get hit by one of them) and then deflect the illuminate by the lantern, and you're swapping in the plushie (or a leveling pet - managed to even do a level 2 undead tonight) when her idol casts Dark Rebirth so you can avoid its effect.
Then you sandstorm so it's no longer a sunny day (though for me the lantern never gets off the wish anyway)...after that it's pretty consistently the same fight every time and might never have failed for me from that point.
