My Leyline Broodling (H/B, 1-1-1) soloed this whole team! Burrow whenever whirlpool is going to pop, Drain Blood on CD, and fill with Rend. It's fast enough to get many hits out of Rend on almost all enemies.

My Feline Familiar didn't do as well as I thought. I didn't have a Lost Netherpup, but I was encouraged by comments here about the Familiar, so I just dropped in a Fel Pup and an Albino River Calf essentially at random. Would not recommend Fel Pup, but Albino River Calf's Stoneskin handily neutralized Grommet.

I didn't have the feline familiar, and my netherpup was only level 1, so I gave this a try with with Lurking Owl Kitten (2,2,1), Ash'ana (2,2,1) and Fossorial Bile Larva (2,1,1). My owl kit was able to take out the crab, and half of the bird's hp, before I brought in Ash'ana, who finished off the bird and then the murloc. I never had to bring the third pet it.

The upside to this team:
*they are all P/S or P/P only, so they bring a lot of damage to the fight
*the first two have abilities to lower the speed of the enemy pets to help deal with the bird, and their own moves are buffed if they attack first

The downside to this team:
*no dodges, burrows, dives, or other way to avoid damage, so if you get hit with a bad crit, you might have to restart.

My Xu-fu died a little early with this strat which meant my Lost Netherpup couldn't finish the job but I had a Baby Elderhorn (1-1-1) in the third spot. Did Tough n' Cuddly, Headbutt then Horn Gore to finish him off.

I must have had bad luck, my Feline Familiar didn't even take out the second guy. However, my Mining Monkey had no problem finishing the fight.

I was able to level two pets using a combo of this strategy and the one offered under aquatics for Bodhi. My Lost Netherpup was only level 23, but I used him in the second slot. Then, for another beast, I put a level 12 Direhorn Runt in third place. Feline Familiar carried the battle and probably could have soloed it (as others have mentioned); but, once Grommet was well injured, Direhorn came in for Grommet's second dance, then Netherpup entered the field, Howled and Shadow Shocked to end the fight. I know that I undoubtedly got very lucky with this, but in the end, Bodhi's beasts are checked off on the FF achievement, and that's what counts. Thanks to all of you great folks here for the strategies.

Funny enough, my feline familiar was able to solo this pet battle.

All i did was used stoneskin when Grommet appear, and then onyx bite. 4 turns and he died horribly.

Missed with claws several times but still managed to win. Just time your prowl and feeding time properly and you should be able to survive it all.

I used the strategy posted here, but I wanted to see if I could use it to lvl a pet as well. I took a larve of 700+ health after I found out that lvl 9 650 health got killed by the tornado.
When you alter the strat a bit like this;
When grommit comes in he uses his buff, here you can swap your lvl pet in and out. Now use "howl" and then "shadow shock" Grommet will almost be dead and your lvl pet can take it down after netherpup dies.
With the hat it gave me 5k+ pet xp, which nets me 5 lvl's.

Same thing! I added a prowl on the bird and took it down in three hits, the stone skin kept the stampede off me long enough to take out the murloc with only 172 hp the whole fight.

I didn't have any of the required pets in the strat, so I easily defeated Bodhi with these ones:

ADDER (1,1,1)
ELDER PYTHON (1,1,1)
SILENT HEDGEHOG (1,2,2)

The two snakes can deal with all 3 pets... if needed use hedgehog to finish the job

I'd recommend swapping Maul and Shadow Shock on the Grommet part - without bleed it's a near guarantee that a howled SS will do spectacularly more damage - in my cases this has one-shot Grom. Strategy however is spot on reliable :)

Agreed, the Shadow Shock does bonus damage against the Grommet, no reason to use the maul.
