I used a H/P Frostfur Rat, Rapana Whelk (B/B and H/B) to finish the fight. On the third pet and I was on my third as well, I was able to use Dive, then Ooze touch to finish it off.

same, except my frostfur rat was H/B, rapana whelk was S/S, and used an H/P shimmershell snail as 3rd pet. very close but still got em (edited)

Just about worked even though my snails got one hit each on Ticker (snail 1 got Acidic Goo, snail 2 got Ooze Touch) - Ticker crit both the snails unfortunately and 1-2 shot them with 1088 dmg claws.

The rat was fast enough to cast Call Darkness as he was forced in against Ticker at least!

Works well!

Worked first time for me. I had an SS Frostfur Rat in the first slot and had no issues.

I adjusted the strategy for reduce the RNG and changed the third pet. He need to have a lot HP in order to survive, so try snails with compatible breeds. (edited)

There are several possible sources of RNG here.

I completed it first time with a P/P Frostfur, H/B Rapana, B/B Rusty, but the battle deviated from the strat when the Rapana died before getting Ooze Touch on Ticker, after Molaze crit both my Rat and Whelk. I ended up finishing with the Frostfur Rat, winning simply because I went first on the final round.

On my second test I went in with a H/P Shimmershell and a Mudshell, both better breeds of snail, but a small crit from Lilly killed my Rat, leaving me with no final backup, and a big crit from Ticker's Claw wiped my final snail out.

I have the vague feeling that this strat might be refined further, especially by requiring certain breeds, but I'm not sure it's necessary. RNG means you may have to just try, try again.

Agree, this just doesn't work, I also tried numerous times. Can never get acidic goo on the last pet as he cocoon strikes, and then immediately kills your snail. Last snail comes in and is 2 shot.
