One of the easier fights on Mechagon Island, even with two teamwide Poison DoT effects and Toxic Spray to increase DoT damage. But to be honest, using it before both debuffs are applied feels wasted.

Make sure your last pet has a standard damaging attack selected.

In Patch 8.3 Sputtertube's Power was lowered from 521 to 420 what leads to high HP squirrel breeds surviving Round 2. Slightly changed steps and script, please overwrite your old one if you were using this strategy.

Infected Squirrel and Sunfire Kaliri both died in Dragonflight 10.0.5. The third random pet finished off Sputtertube.

I'm not sure what's changed, but it seems Corpse Explosion completely kills the Squirrel now. There is no extra undead turn for me. I had to skip Corpse Explosion entirely, and just use Creeping Fungus, then Stampede.

Other than that, it worked just fine, with Fire Quills finishing the fight in two turns.

Inf Squirrel and Ragnaros, Rabid strike until undead passive, stampede, sq dies, Rag, flamethrower, conflagrate, i guess any good fire damage will work, like a fel flame or something, 3rd pet survived so it got xp, it was around 20 ish

Just did this battle. It went really fast, Creeping Fungus, Corpse Explosion, Stampede, Fire Quills. Done in four turns.

I've been using this as my default Sputtertube strat all along, and it has always worked perfectly.

Now, the first time I use it in 8.3, it fails in a very specific way: the Squirrel does not survive to an Undead round to Stampede. I reckon this is actually the correct behaviour for Corpse Explosion, much like Failsafe should not kick in for Explode. I wonder whether Blizzard fixed this as a bug.

Tested 3 times, but I'd be happy to hear others' experiences, just in case my brain was not in gear. (edited)

OK so I'm not crazy. I hadn't had my coffee, and anything I say before coffee is suspect!

There are several obvious easy fixes, including having a third pet clean up, but I'll leave that to Lazey, who is very reliable. Meantime, for anyone relying on this, I would suggest either running any Flock pet in Slot 2 and saving the Kaliri for when it dies, or just using Stampede instead of Corpse Explosion on Round 2, and then cleaning up as needed. Thanks! Not sure but it looks like Sputtertubes Power was decreased to 420 (I have PTR screenshots with 521 Power) so his special ability won't deal fatal damage to H/P Squirrels anymore. It still works for the P/B breed.

Adjusted the script and will check steps, expect 2x Fungus + Stampede on H/P and Fungus + Corpse Explosion + Stampede on P/B now. Sunfire Kaliri handling should be unchanged this way. (edited)

Sure your Squirrel had <=1100HP or why did you use Corpse Explosion in turn 2? With the latest steps&script changes (Jan 29th) H/P breed uses a 2nd Creeping Fungus in turn 2.

Forest Sproutling has the same abilities; using 1-2-2,. I put the Sun Sproutling in the 3rd spot, just to play with Fist of the Fores] - it was my first time playing with these pets. I really like doing battles that use pets I have but no one uses in their strats. Thanks! It was fun.

Perhaps when Fire Quills only hits twice you need Predatory Strike, but it always managed three hits for me and I never needed it. :)
