I didn't have a Fel Pup so I used my Lost Netherpup (2-2-*). I also put him in slot 1 and Jungle Grub in slot 2. I got it to work this way

I tried my Jungle Grub Devouring Maggot, and Maggot and they all died. So finally I looked up my pets to see what had Consume and Sticky Goo and found a H/H Imperial Silkworm so for the 3rd slot used Moth Dust and used that after consume, sticky goo, moth dust over and over. This worked!!! I was able to keep them from swapping out and put them to sleep each time with Moth Dust.
