Worked three times with my level 22 Baa'lial. Then it leveled and continued to work five more times at level 23.

If you're distracted like me and put the Sunflower back in after Ba'al rather than the leveling pet, just do the following:
- Solar Beam
- Bring in the leveling pet after the Sunflower dies
- Swap to Ba'al immediately
- Murder the Innocent

I tried this strat about 12 times in a row, whilst leveling a third pet. Not once did the Sunflower die after the swap. Best HP was 205, worst HP 17, but still able to cast Solar Beam, after which it was an easy kill for Baa'l. Great strat. (edited)
