this strategy does not work 100% of the time, it has a lot of RNG/luck. you either: kill his first pet, then his 2nd pet and 3rd per wreck all your remaining pets. or you actually can defeat him. It's kind of a crapshoot. :( (edited)

Yeah, in the US "50/50" means there's a 50% chance of winning and a 50% chance of losing.
