Looking at other strategies I was going for 3 black claw / swarm or flock pets and put in the Baby Zandalari to add bleed to the mix because it lasts 5 rounds. Quite fortunately the Baby and the Chitterspine attacks interact very, very well. Once the shattered defenses hit the Bleeding is massive. Baby never gets black claw in but Kelpstone never hits the third pet for me.

This is going to be a variation on Doombird (UBV/Ikky). I noticed on another strat that having pet #1 die in round 2 was the best option for this. Fade allows your Ikky to be swapped in, and get at least 1 Flock off.

It doesn't matter if your Wayward Spirit dies from Mudslide, and it doesn't matter if Ikky dies from Stonerush. Should be fairly foolproof.

Anything with Surge should be fine in slot #3

It can't be a breed issue, since both Bleakwater Jelly and Squirky have only one breed.

Were you using those two pets, or some of the possible substitutes for the jelly?

And how exactly did it fail? Perhaps a Whirlpool pet with much less power? Bleakwater has 305 power, but something like a Crawdad has only 260. That could make a huge difference.

OK, so I tried it, and found a point of failure. If Kelpstone crits Mudslide or Stone Rush, Squirky will die too soon. That should be a 10% chance, I think. A third pet can rescue the situation, since it will have Shattered Defenses up on Kelpstone, but Kelpstone is about to heal a bunch, so it needs a hard push. Maybe Squeeze from a P/P Abyssal Eel or a P/P Crimson Octopode?

I'm on fight 16 and I still haven't been able to get Kelpstone to crit Squirky, *However*, if you use a Mailemental in slot #2, Kelstone can't damage you beyond a certain #, so it can't fail

Yeah, I got "lucky" when I tried it. You could go 20, 50 times without failing. Most Stampede/Flock pets should work there most of the time. But the chance is there.

Mailemental should be 100% safe.

Used Emperor Crab as first pet, it helped to start the fight, take some damage, then forfeit to lower the crab's health. It needs to die on turn 2 so Squirky can Stampede for the buff for Whirlpool.

Used Abyssal Eel as third pet, and it did a good job of finishing off the fight. Pump x2 + Water Jet. Could have just been RNG/luck though. Kelpstone did heal to about 70% after first Pump.

The cave is at the bottom of the waterfall - over the edge from where the waypoint (46.6 28) will show.
