My Chrominius got swiped before I got the dragon buff, but I was able to save it by switching back to it and using the classic howl+surge of power combo. My Chrominius was really close to dying before he could pull it off and his pet was close to healing past the 1480 breakpoint but it all ended up well and without me having to use the infinite whelpling. Which makes me think that another pet with surge of power might be the best 3rd slot pet to ensure you manage to pull this off even if your Chrominius dies earlier after getting switched. Could be another Chrominius or ideally Emmigosa/Lil'taregcosa/Azure Whelpling which have both surge of power and a dragon attack to deal with the remaining magic pets.

This is a great strategy that *does* work, *if* you can get the dragonkin buff on Chrominus before he is swept out of battle by Deckhand. The first time I attempted this, he was swept out and the strat was nowhere close to taking everyone down. A second attempt, however, yielded perfect results so just forfeit if he is swapped and try again! Still a 5-star strat in my book! :3

Does not work, when Leonard swaps Chrominius, when you get the dragon buff too late and so can'tl kill L. with your special.
