This strat worked well for me, and I didn't ever need my third pet. :)

I had to use 2 more Magic Swords to kill the first pet, and Goblin died before Milo came in. Used Stunted Yeti 1*1 as my 3rd pet, finished Milo off.

Yea theres a bit of RNG involved depending on how lucky gets with crits, basically if you are below 700ish HP after killing buzzbeak your goblin probably won't survive Tikka.
