Trashy is good on this fight. It can take out the 1st 2 pets and soak the Puppies of the Flame as long as Dumpster Dive hits. It works fairly well for leveling critter carry pets.

In regards to this strategy, it is also good to have a beetle/roach faster than >260 as this will make flank hit more often and get down Foof faster. Otherwise, you're going to be there awhile with the heal he has.

I did this fight pretty easily with a couple of snails and a rabbit. Maybe the RNG just shined on me though. I used two snails with (2, 1, 1). Acid goo, Dive and absorb made short work of the first pup. The second one was harder for the snail killing the first but I got through it with my second using the same move set. For Lil Sizzle my second snail survived the Puppies of Flame but didn't have much left yet so I used dive soon as it refreshed and took a chunk out before it died. Rabbit finished off elemental dog easily with burrow and flurry.

Snail, rabbit (S/S Grasslands Cottontail, in case it makes any difference), snail. Acidic Goo, Dive, Absorb, lather rinse repeat until the first snail is dead - Absorb, combined with the fact that Superbark cannot kill, meant it lived until Lil' Sizzle came out and could even soak some of the damage from Puppies of the Flame. Then I pulled out the second snail, which promptly got Inferno Herded to the back, pulling out my rabbit. Dodge -> Stampede. By the time that was over, Inferno Herding was off cooldown and brought my snail back. Dive + the weakened took off most of the dog's remaining health. Had to wait out another pass of PotF, but then another two hits of Absorb finished it off.

Used a Cockroach and just spammed Flank against foof. When stumpers comes out, use hiss so that you get first attack. Flank until your roach dies. Next bring in a rabbit (I used hares) and scratch and use dodge when lil' sizzle is using his attack that hits hard. 1 shot with 2 pets still alive.

Might work with RNG on your side. Stumpers managed to dodge -every- Flank and -every- scratch, while pulling off a 718 crit Superbark that killed my Hare with no damage to him. :( After a whooping that bad, my second hare couldn't make a recovery.

Exactly. Dustbunny (2,2,1) almost soloed it until getting swapped out. Popped a couple of Fawns in there with headbutt for flavor. Should be go to strat for lvling pets (lvl 15+)

This actually worked really well the first time. I had no problems with the strat. I used a (H/S) cockroach, (S/B) elfin rabbit, and a (H/S) tolai hare pup. Just for reference in case anyone is having trouble with this strat.

vs 2nd enemy pet- Flurry Dodge Burrow then Dodge on CD to avoid Superbark > Flurry

vs 3rd enemy pet my Dodge was on CD so used Burrow, then Passed 1 round -> Dodge and Flurry untill Bunny died


any 25 lev critter should finish 3rd enemy pet, for example:

1) S/S Dust Bunny as mentioned

2) Frostfur Rat P/S or S/S is also very good pet

Call Darkness -> Sneak Attack when enemy pet isnt underground, otherwise Crouch

3) Silkbead Snail

Shell Shield (to soak dmg when enemy is underground) otherwise Dive > Ooze Touch

PS: as i am reading alternative tactic- Fawns are probably best for it (nice one) but i just wanted to share with some alternative :)

and to introduce Dust Bunny as it is amazing pet (and have P/S breed!)

Worked like a charm. This needs to be written up as an alternative strategy.

Speed of Dust Bunny isn't as important as all that, if it's SS (357) take Dodge in the middle slot, if it's slower (322) take Smoke Bomb. Fast bunnies use Dodge on CD to avoid Superbark, slow ones use Smoke Bomb the round it's up (second round Stumpers is in), and then use Burrow to avoid the next Superbark.

And yeah, any snail will just wreck Lil'Sizzle using the outlined strategy.

Didn't have any fast rabbits so I did it on first try with Fire-Proof Roach H/S (2-1-2), Frostfur Rat S/S (1-1-2), and Mr. Wiggles. Followed the same strategy until it called to switch to speed rabbit and swapped in Mr. Wiggles. He ate the Superbark, Used buried treasure to heal, then headbutt and diseased bite until he died. Brought in Frostfur Rat and kept crouch and call darkness on cooldown, while filling with sneak attack. Basically just used him to suck up a couple rounds for apocalypse until he did and my roach came back in. at which point you could just pass and wait for the apocalypse to finish.

Excellent idea, Zampo!

There are several Fawns with the same moveset. Fawn, Gazelle Fawn, Gleamhoof Fawn, Little Fawn, Winter Reindeer, Rescued Fawn.

Two of Amalia's pets are 260 speed, and most Fawns are faster, which helps a lot.

I just won three out of 4 tries using a team of 3 Fawns, with the rotation:
Nature's Ward
Stampede
Headbutt. (That hurts, just after a Stampede. :)

Or, if switching in a new fawn after the last one died, consider Headbutt first if the opponent is suffering Shattered Defenses., Headbutt may stun, forcing Amalia to swap, but just carry on regardless.

The one time it failed was when Stumpers (the 325 speed with Cute Face, curse him!) avoided Headbutt.

The Apocalypse/Rabbit strategy here seems to work very well, but for anyone who needs something different, this is an interesting option.

I third this strategy! I will concur that if Stumpers dodges your Headbutt, you have to forfeit, as there's no way to recover.

Any 3 fawns with Natures Ward, Stampede, and Headbutt will work, even ones with exactly 260 speed, as it means you can get rid of the chance of outspeeding and stunning. So a P/P Gleamhoof Fawn is perfect for this. (Exactly 260 speed)

My S/S gleamhoof fawn (1, 2, 2) was able to solo this fight, probably because I got lucky and managed to stun Lil' Sizzle with headbutt when he came in. But if the gleamhoof fawn had died, I would have brought one of my two other critters to finish off Lil' Sizzle. Began with Nature's Ward and kept it up, used headbutt on cd and filled in with Hoof.

I hadn't leveled my Gleamhoof Fawn yet (those two levels matter, folks), but my Little Fawn held up just as well. Had a Gazelle Fawn in backup which got pulled in by Lil'Sizzle and finished the doggie off.
10/10 best strat. Super easy, no trouble.

I don't know if it relates to this battle or not, but something I might try using for the Critter Family Familiar achievement is one of the Fawns or Winter Reindeer.

I'm interested to see if the ability Nature's Ward is effective in any of these battles. It's a pretty decent heal and turns your critter into an Elemental. Fawns also come with Hoof/Stampede and Headbutt, so overall it seems like a decent moveset.

They added a new fawn, Gleamhoof Fawn, as a wild pet you can capture, so that might be another hint that Fawns may see some use for this achievement (and the Rescued Fawn as the reward for the Broken Isles Safari achievement).
