I wasn't a fan of the damage variation on Chomp, which introduced an unnecessary element of RNG to the strat. I swapped it out for the Jade Tentacle. Scratch has a flat damage, and between Shell Shield and Thorns it keeps Mist Wraith from doing too much damage to the Tentacle, and mitigates healing from Plagued Blood.

I actually do not have the razortooth, so I had to find an alternative, and I can assure this is solvable. The team I went with was Blossoming Ancient- ironbark/photosynthesis/sunlight
Tiny Snowman-snowball/call blizzard/deep freeze
Devourer Lobstruk-pinch/toxic skin/whirlpool

Blossoming soloed the fight

like a lot of people said, my razortooth lost a lot of health a lot earlier than expected so when crawdead came in I just hit him with rip, shark in the water, shield then he died. brought in snowman and using the above strat he lasted till gnaw had like 400HP. I was leveling a level 20 sophic amalgamation and finished him off with Illuminate for the XP

I'm a bit surprised that no one tried using the Singing Sunflower for this one. I don't have the razortooth, tiny snowman, or the earth spirit, so I was kindof in a bind on this one. But I made a team of the Singing Sunflower, Stormstruck Beaver, and Pandaren Water Spirit. The Sunflower took out the first two pets with no problem, and was able to get a hit in on the third before she died. I just started off with Sunlight, Photosynthesis, Solar Beam, and made sure to keep Photosynthesis up at all times. Only cast Sunlight again when it wears off, but Photosynthesis/Solar Beam are the first two priorities.

When the third pet comes in, pull in the Pandaren Water Spirit, whirlpool, dive, water jet, and that should kill him. If not, water jet until he's dead.

I never even needed to use my third pet, the stormstruck beaver.

The sunflower almost solos the fight this way - I ended up having to bring in the water spirit for a single water jet, and never even had to use my 3rd pet.

Didn't work the first time. Razortooth died way too early. Second try I did not pass in the second round but put Lightning Shield on first and then passed in the round Mist Wraith puts on defense/dodge buff. Although Razortooth died a bit earlier than described in the strat, Snowman easily killed off the other 2 pets after that. Didn't need a third pet.

Not sure how this strategy would ever work as the 3rd pet (Gnaw) is an elemental so it's not going to be affected by the "chill" in the snowman blizzard (which lessens all of the snowman's attacks)..

Probably because chilling Gnaw has absolutely nothing to do with the strategy. Against Crawdead, Blizzard + Deep Freeze stuns. Against Gnaw, Blizzard and Deep Freeze are used simply because they do more damage than Snowball. Also, Blizzard doesn't lessen attacks, and even if it did, Tiny Snowman would equally benefit, as it is also elemental. Y'know, because this is the elemental strategy for defeating Jarrun.

Blossoming Ancient can solo the whole team. takes 47+ turns (at least that what I getting average at) So it slow but never worry about losing, as Blossoming Ancient never falls below 80% health.

This team worked very nicely for me, including gaining a level from 23 to 24 for a Stormstruck Beaver. On my first try, it came very close but failed, then I realized that my Razortooth was uncommon. Using a rare stone on him made the difference. Of course, if my third pet had been L25, there would have been no problem even with Razortooth being green, but I do like leveling pets whenever I can. Thanks, once again, to the team at Xu-Fu. You folks are incredible!

Jade Tentacle [1,2,1] does a pretty good job with this fight. If you time the healing right it can last a good bit, and it's got a strong move against the 1st 2 pets.

I used Jade Tentacle, Tiny Snowman, and Pandaren Warter Spirit. By the time the water spirit was in, I only needed 1 attack to finish the fight.

Try Jademist Dancer in the 3rd slot if you still need this battle.
For the Anonymous that made the post on 12/24/2016 I already have Family Familiar but am finishing off the battles I didn't need from each Master to do the achievement. I chose to put a level 19 Jademist Dancer in the 3rd slot because that pet's first move is Steam Vent and it is STRONG against Elemental.
Tiny Snowman whittled away at Gnaw with Snowball and did manage one crit at 444.
Dancer popped Acid Rain for a little damage and the Cleansing Rain to reduce length of hostile damage and add a 25% increase in Aquatic Damage. If I had more health and had not gotten so lucky with Tiny's Snowball reducing Gnaw's health so well, I would have popped Jadeskin but I skipped straight to Steam Vent. It killed Gnaw in one hit. THAT surprised me! HA!
Gave my (now level 22) Jademist Dancer 4235 XP with the Safari Hat on.
For me this turned out to be a GREAT strat so thanks again for all the hard work on this site!

In what way does this strategy work? I had good RNG on my side 3 times in a row and still lost.
"should have 200 HP left" in what universe i get destroyed by the crab every time.
you should start listing breeds, this is not the first time I've run into this sort of interaction with your strategies.

I had a level 23 Stormstruck Beaver with me and he died a terrible terrible death due to Carpnado from Crawdead and an unlucky crit. Use caution friends. If you can't actually kill Crawdead with the Deep Freeze then he CAN come back and murder your leveling pet.

I swapped it out for the Jade Tentacle. Scratch has a flat damage, and between Shell Shield and Thorns it keeps Mist Wraith from doing too much damage to the Tentacle, and mitigates healing from Plagued Blood. Ratings have been reset.
