I tried this 3 times and failed 3 times. Skimmer's pump kills my Ikky every time. Fen crab never got to use Blood in the water on Mollus. H/H Fen crab, P/S Ikky.

So I just checked for myself. H/H Fen Crab. Worked perfectly.

There may be room for crits to upset the strategy. I logged it, but haven't done the arithmetic. Did you notice any crits? I received one minor crit from an Acidic Goo DoT tick, but that was the only crit.

My Crab did - just - survive to get its Blood in the Water off, but according to the strat that isn't necessary. I can see that an earlier crit, bigger than the tick I got, would have killed the Crab first.

And Ikky killed Skimmer before Skimmer got his Pump off.

Maybe, if the Crab dies before Blood, Ikky's Flock doesn't have the horsepower since the nerf in Shadowlands to take down Mollus and get Skimmer in kill range? Maybe in that case, Ikky would need to spend all three rounds to kill Mollus, leaving it one round behind. 624 damage vs 128 + 3*179? Could be. I'd need to test again, retrying until my Fen Crab sufffered a bigger crit.

I tried this three times, Fen Crab died horribly to Skyshaper every time. Most recent attempt:
Turn 1) Spiny Carapace, Confusing Sting; Crab at 1607 hp
Turn 2) Rip, Glowing Toxin; Crab at 1472 hp, Skyshaper at 1347 hp
Turn 3) Blood in the Water, Slicing Winds. Crab at 823 hp, Skyshaper at 516 hp.
Turn 4) Rip, Slicing Winds. Crab at 192 hp, Skyshaper at 207 hp.
Turn 5) Slicing Winds, Skyshaper kills Fen Crab. Skyshaper still has 78 hp.

That was actually the best result; the other two attempts Skyshaper had over 200 hp. I have an H/H Crab, maybe that's the problem?

I've been using this strategy by Jere and it works great, but I find it is more reliable to use P/P Valley Chicken with Flock, Head Butt, Savage Talon; in that order--Also use a P/P crab with the Fen Crab moveset (if you don't have a Fen Crab). My crab always dies when the Mollus resurfaces, but not before the triple damage Spiny Carapace.

I always find blood in the water is still on cooldown when facing Mollus - I use rip instead - it has never connected.....:)

Strat still works though and is the one I use all the time

I tried this with a HH Fen Crab, and Diamond was taking a round longer to kill and the fight was failing. Switched to a PP Kelp Scuttler, and it went smoothly.

I never get to the second rip on Mollus. The dive kills my Fen Crab every time. So I'm one move behind, and ultimately Skimmer kills Ikky, leaving me with a leveling pet who can't finish off the fight.

Your not behind. Its just in case it does hit, if Mollus don't kill crab with dive. Sometimes Mollus's dive doesn't kill the crab and you get an extra hit in. Then dies from the Acidic Goo. I did change the rip though to Blood in the water for it does 100% hit for Mullus already has rip debuff on him.

Not sure if Predatory Strike is really required – I managed to deal with Skimmer using mere Savage Talons of Ikky. I have yet to see if RNG can fail that because you know, you can fight once a day (though it'd be possible to make a simulation?). I don't want to get Jere in the way, just had a thought that it'd simplify the global roster. It's up to you. :)

Definitely. I only suggested Predatory Strike because it is a specific non variant damage that on occasion can kill the last enemy the turn after flock ends (depends on the healing from cleansing rain). I was going more for speed. Trading speed for cleaner roster is definitely a viable trade.

Alternative 3, ie: Fen Crab and Ikky don't work very well at the swap with a lvl 1 pet because Mollus will kill the level 1 pet with Absorb if it's under ~ 156 or so HP. I'd recommend a lvl 2 pet at minimum, but even better yet a lvl 5 pet or higher.
The fight is guaranteed if your lvling pet can throw a howl on Mollus before you swap to Ikky.

Well, ideally, you don't leave your levelling pet in at all, so the only damage it will ever take is from the AoE from Diamond. When your Fen Crab dies, you select your carry pet, then you immediately swap it out for your ikky/hatchling. You still get exp if you do the swap immediately because selecting the carry pet after another pet dies is enough to get it credit.

Tried the tactic, worked first time. PP crab ofc. My old tactic still works but takes a tad longer. Used to be real good before hit accuracy patch, now Diamond is left 1hp and another water jet is needed. Puffer Fish pump-heal-water jet, repeat 2nd pet, switcheroo, flyver cleanup.

Das Ende ("Wilde Kralle bis Gleiter stirbt") war bei mir 3x hintereinander nicht erfolgreich.
Wenn ich stattdessen "Schwarze Klaue" und dann "Schar" nehme, ist Gleiter in 2 Runden hinüber.
